do i have a chance or NO?
i dont want to preorder my 350z without first taking it for a test drive and checking out the car how it handles feels spaciousness and the whole nine........so the question is do i have a chance on getting the car from the dealership whenever they are shipped here sometime late August??????? or am i only going to get it if i perorder it????

This brings up an interesting question. As we see on the forum a few are bailing from the deposit. If the dealer gets the car in September without a buyer, what is to prevent the sale on the open market regardless of Nissan's desire?

You will not be able to take a Z for a spin as they are arriving for customers only.
Also, as far as I know, you can no longer pre-order a Z.
So... not much for you to do except wait until the pre-orders are fulfilled and hope for quick shipments to hit the showroom floor arriving in Dec.-Jan. Sorry bud...

It will be late in the year or beginning of next year before you see them for sale on the dealer lots.
Also, depending on the area of the country that you live in, you may not be able to find one in your town. You may have to travel to another city if you are in a smaller town. If you are in a big city there shouldn't be a problem.
These cars will be disappearing quickly off the dealer lots. However, Nissan is shipping out 30,000 cars the first year so they will definitely be available. Just don't wait too long because then they will be gone.

Seriously though, the dealer might take you out for a really short spin if they have a show model or a Z without an owner.

as far as an ownerless car in sept., many dealers Im sure have a "wait list" maybe 1 or 2 preorders long. I for one will "test drive" my car home. No around the block BS, and there are plenty of folk like me. If you want a Z by the end of the year, I suggest you find the GM's of several dealers in your area and just talk to them constantly. Then be at the right place and the right time and with no talking of "doubts" and "test drives"...just buying.
Solution 2. there might be a couple of dealers in remote areas of the midwest. I heard only 6800 preorders were filled, leaving 700 left!

Possible
According to Nissan I think each dealer must have one that they can display or use for test drives. Those will be available in the Nov-Dec time frame. The pre orders will all be filled before you see those though.
