I went to National Tire & Battery and bought the unlimited alignments for a year for l think less than $100 bucks. You can get it realigned as much as you want for one year.

I'm not sure of spending 250 for springs, then 150 for install and then another 100 for alignment along with a possible feathering problem will be in my mod future. $500 plus possibly scraping my front lip for .7"? I dunno man.

I saw what my friend's car looked like before and after he lowered his Zed, so I knew exactly what I was getting. The drop of 0.7 might not look noticable in photos, but it is definately noticable in real life when you can walk around the car. My friends noticed it without me saying anything so I am confident in it having a "look" difference.

With that said, I got the springs because my friend told me how incredible the handling was after the springs was changed, so I decided to get the Hotchkis because of the praise in handling that my friend mentioned. So the springs was for looks and performance as well.

And the reason why I went with 0.7 inches is because I didn't want to scratch the front lip. And the alighnment will be $40usd at the local shop.

Like you, I was a bit skeptical at first if a 0.7 inch drop would make a difference, But incredibly, it makes a huge difference. In looks and handling.

I believe the $450 for the whole thing was worth it. I'm sorry if you don't agree.

Is the ride much firmer? For me, stock is already a bit tight.

hmm....makes me want to drop my car now, but someone told me to get Tanabes with 1.5inch F, and 1.2 R.........I wonder if that will be too low, especially in real life situations??
Anyone here with such drops? Picture would be much appreciated!
Nice car!

What year is yours? I was told the 03' had a more agressive setup so you felt a lot of the road, then they decided to make the 04'+ less harsh.

As for the ride being firmer... to tell you the truth, I find with the new springs, it's a lot smoother, I still feel the road, but oddly enough, it just feels "smooth". The most noticable change is taking corners I find.

As for the Tanabe 1.5 drop, for myself and my city, a 1.5 drop is impossible. And I have this pet peeve with the car being so low that the fenders hide part of the tires. IMO, it puts off the look of the car I wanted something between stock height and the extreme drop some people have, so I compromised and got the 0.7 drop. I've attached a picture to explain my pet peeve. I don't want to offend people who have setups like this, it's just a pet peeve of mine to have a car setup like that.

As for the cost of the whole thing, it was $450usd installed. My friend with the same setup got it for $650usd installed, so I figured either I got a great deal or he got a bad deal.

I have the 03. If I were going to lower it. I think i'd do something more aggressive, you know, if your going to do a mod, make it stand out at least.

I think everyone is doing the tanabe. Has anyone done a spring they recomend?

Also, Please post in a couple weeks on this thread if your car actually settled. That would be a VERY big decision maker if it actually did come down a bit more.

ive shown my car twice formally and twice informally and cameras fire away.
i love crowds and cameras taking pics of my ride. Even more so, what a nice feeling to get new shoes and get those girlies taking pics of you and your ride.
Kudos to you. Sweet!

Looking good!!! What are the dimensions of your rims. Width and offset. I had a set of 19in volks and they bent just like some cast rim would do so I am thinking of getting some 18in now. The drop looks pretty good and that was a good idea to only go .7" - 1" because your shocks will take a little longer to wear but not as long as if it were stock.

Those wheels are definitely nice. I think 18's are perfect for a Z, especially if u're more about performance than looks. Good job.

Looks good!
Wheels make a huge difference on the appearance.
After I put on new wheels, it grabbed attention twice as much as before.
