IM looking to buy a 350Z
Here are my questions:
(BTW for now i have a 2004 RSX Type-S with lots of mods)
1- I know the base model doesnt have LSD, is it really important the LSD on the 350Z, without lsd= no fun????
Does it really make a difference?? And what about the traction control too???
2- wich model is the best bang for the buck (BAse, enthousiast, performance etc.)
Here ar my need:
- i want a sport car ( im used to high rev with my type-s)
- i want some luxe
- i want a good system
- i dont want to pay too much (so ill forget the 35th anniversary i guest)
So what model is the best for me
3- Can i use my 350Z in winter with good tire???
4- Insrance is it very expensive ( i have a clean record with no claim, i am paying 1,800$can per year for my RSX Type-S 2004 fully protect)
5- HOw the 350Z is compared to my car
-performance
-luxe
-fun to drive
-practicle
-quality
-etc.
6- WHat thing should i look on the 350Z before buying it (like problems they use to have etc.)
7- Are they expensive in maintenace (oil change/repair etc.)
8- And finaly the pro and con of the 350Z (each model if they are really different)
Thx a lot for your answerds
Francis (maybe a next 350Z owner)

The best bang for the buck is the enthusiast model. You get the traction control and the limited slip, cruise control, aluminum pedals, steering wheel audio controls.
The base model in regards to "fun" would be the most fun because you can spin the tires and throw the car around all over the place, however when you are actually out of control the base model does not help you out at all.
You can use the Z in the winter with a good set of winter tires like some Blizzaks. I used my Z all winter here in New Hampshire and it is doable, i just really would not recommend it, it still handles like crap even with snow tires. Without snow tires it is literally impossible to drive that car in any amount of snow.
To avoid any mechanical problems i would recommend getting a 2005 or a 2006 model. The 2003's had tire feathering and tranny problems but from what i understand those have all been fixed by 2005.
Maintenance is like any other car, replace oil every 3500 or so. Most people use synthetic oil which a little bit more expensive, if you use synthetic replace oil every 5000 or so. Other than that just replace stuff as it breaks like any other car.
Insurance i dont think would be that much more than what you are paying now. I went from an 04 Tiburon full coverage to a new 05 Z full coverage and my insurance only went up $170 per year.
Overall experience compared to your car, depending on the mods you have there is no much or a comparison, the Z stock for stock is faster, handles better, and is much more driver oriented, everything in the car feels like it was put there for you (subtle things like how the center console gauges are tilted so they face you) the Z is less practicle since there is no backseat it is ,unless you are like me and never need it anyways.
