Question Sunroof for 350Z?

Does anyone know if Nissan will be offering a sunroof option for the 350Z?

You could always make one out of the duct tape and plastic left over from the last terror alert...

I got my Enth w/ the following dealer installed options: Powered Sunroof, Tint, Supplementary alarm system. I'll try and post pics of the sunroof soon.

You can check the nissan website for all information on the 350Z . Also, the possibilities of a sunroof, targa top, or T-tops have been discussed at length over the last few months. The subject even came up in a thread yesterday and you can certainly find it on another page in this forum or you can run a search.

if you were to have a sunroof...where does the glass go? does it sit on top of the car when you open it....can't hide inside the roof like a normal sunroof (unless it's about 1 foot deep).

i think they should make a z that has a panel that you can remove and put in the trunk area (like the vipers). that would look sweet!

but, yeah, a sunroof would be nice.

I cant tell from that angle, but wouldnt the hatch tear it off if it was opened when the suroof was open?

Id think itd have to be just a glass roof or moonroof...

aftermarket can do anything, but what if it leaks? they used to have that problem alot, but I heard theyve made design advancments in aftermarket sunroofs lately.

I would never have a sunroof installed in a car... the chassis is not built to have a huge hole on top and they always leak eventually.

hehe interesting, thats the same thing a dealer in ga told me. how much you wanna bet both of them were talking out of their asses?

maybe a customer came in and said, "gee itd be great if someone made a sunroof" and the dealers hear" a company down the road has created a sunroof and will be delivering it tomarrow"

Thumbs up Sunroof is Good

I'm glad to see all the chat regarding the sunroof.
Let me address some of your points.
First, Webasto is a 100-year-old company that produces top quality products. We have been making sunroofs since 1932. We are the largest OE sunroof supplier both in Europe and in North America.
The Stratos 300 Medium power spoiler sunroof that is shown in the picture is the newest of our products and comes with a 5-year warranty.
When open, the sunroof glass panel does not interfere with full operation of the rear hatch.
Inside, the sunroof has a user-control panel, with 2 programmable positions, auto open, and auto close. The sunshade can be placed in any position.
Please shop around and take a look at all the other sunroofs out there and compare them to ours. The Stratos 300 Medium has the best fit, finish, and user-friendliness of them all.
Sorry to be the "Manufacturer's Rep" but we've had a lot of interest and requests from 350Z owners and I thought that this is the best way to get the word out. Any questions? please email me.

Default cost of sunroof

visit www.webasto.us and select a Webasto Dealer from the Dealer Locator. They will quote you a price. All pricing is set by the dealers. You can expect to pay around $895, installed, for the power sunroof.

Default Stratos or Solaire inbuilt

Negative. The inbuilt requires more room (front-to-back) in the roof skin than the Z has, because the glass panel slides in-between the skin and the interior headliner when opening. A spoiler sunroof is the way to go here.

I checked out the Web site. Is it possible to have a metal instead of glass spoiler-type sunroof, the way the CRX Si had? I don't see that option on the site. Also, what's the difference between the Stratos 300 and the Solaire 3000? You guys should really put more info on the site.

Thanks!
