A word about Z from WRX STI owner
just remember the z is rwd it will never have the same control on the corners as an evo/sti awd on the nurburgring or any course sti and evos are rally cars sti cant handle big puddles... youtube dynoflash ........... but the z is still cool
That's true. Id rather have an STI over an Evo any day though. The Evo 10 does look really aggressive tho

I love and respect subaru performance, but as a 26 year old police officer, I don't think I'd be taken seriously driving a STI. Not only that, but I have really come to love how fun RWD is.

The guys at work already call the Z a girl car. I could only imagine what they would have said if I would have gotten a STI.

i liked subie when they were bugeye's, then they just effed it all up. I love my 350, rwd is so much more funt o drive then awd, cant wai till i can upgrade to a 370. If i could just afford to have one of everyhing.
I must say its also nicer when buying a 350z cause you know its reliable. I'm about to turn 16 and i'm getting my brothers 06 350z roadster and I was considering a 04 sti but the thing is that a 350z has a bigger engine that can take the power and it will last long. As for the sti it has a small engine because of rally racing rules which wont last as long and if you consider buying it then you know its gonna need a lot of work done to it cause it literally has been beat to ****. I love both cars and i think that 04 sti looks great and is a way more practical car, but the z just looks way better and is indeed a TRUE sports car compared to a sti. In the end it doesn't matter about the performance the car has it matters about the driver. My brother smoked a 04 sti that was slightly modified and it was only because my brother could control the car better in traffic and this was when the z was stock. What im trying to get to is if you want a car that is more practical and a little faster then the sti is a great choice, but if you want a car that is more fun to drive, has better looks, and can take a beating then the z is the better car for you. it all matters about what a person wants from their car.

The only reason i said those things about the sti is because i live in a place where it snows...a lot. Thats why i would have ever considered a sti is because of its awd. In the end though i got a z because its better looking, more fun to drive, and is simply all around better car. The sti was just ruined after 2004 and the 04 sti isnt even that great. 350z's were amazing ever since they came out and are only getting better with the 370z. In the other forum they were saying that if any of us took a ride in a sti we would trade in the z for a sti. WRONG, the sti isnt nearly as much fun to drive and never will be.

My buddy just bought a 2012 WRX STi. He traded in his 2011 Impreza after experiencing my Z. I take that as a high compliment. I don't know why people have to argue about which car is better - if you're a car person, you appreciate good cars. I really, really like his car, and I love my car. Whenever we drive somewhere together, it's eyef#ck city.
Do I think the Z looks prettier and sounds better? Yes. Do I think the STi is a machine built to churn up the road as perfectly as can be? Yes. Do I think the two cars compliment each other's shortcomings? Absolutely.
Interestingly, he only puts down 233 whp after an intake and a tune. My modded Z makes more. That said, some cheap mods make it a 400 hp beast... but the Z can always go FI too...
