Default Key(s), Key fobs, and related bits (help!)

I've got an 03 Touring that I bought wrecked, and it's FINALLY just now fixed. The issue is that I had to buy a door (mine was, err, missing) and thus I don't have a key for the door that'd on my car. I DO have an ignition key that fits it and works fine, but I don't have a key fob.

Can a dealer (or just any locksmith) re-key the door if I take them my current key, and the door lock cylinder (I assume this is no problem?). Can I get a key fob short of getting reamed out by a Nissan dealer? (How much IS that, anyway? are they going to charge me 2 hours of labor to program is (I think I remember reading that it was fairly easy?) Lastly, can I pickup an owners manual at Nissan? ($?)

Anyway, thanks.

Chuck

I would get the keyfob on ebay, much cheaper and you can program it yourself.

To program it:

Get in car, lock doors with switch. Insert/Remove key in ignition about 10 times until your h***ards flash. Put key in and turn to On (no crank). Press lock button on keyfob. (h***ards should flash again). Turn ignition Off. Play with keyfob.

I assume the keycode for your door is different than your ignition key? You can probably just get a locksmith to cut you a key for your door since you can't use that key for ignition. To get a new ignition key, you'll have to go to the dealership for them to program it. (unless there's a way to do it that i don't know).

I later found a keyfob on ebay, shipped for 9 bucks, it should be on the way. I guess I'll just pull the lock cylinder and get a locksmith to re-key it to fit my ignition key for me
