Default Stupid Caltrans Cone Trucks!!

Driving home around 10:45pm tonight on the 90 (Marina) Freeway in Socal. Right around a bend on a non-lit area of the freeway and I see a stack of 3 cones laying on their side right in front of me... too late. Nailed em straight on at about 65-70mph had to get the CHP guy to help me pry em out of my front end as he held onto the cone and I reversed. All I got was a blurry picture of the cone truck on the side of the road near the CHP cars with a row of cones bending and practically falling off the back.

Net result is that my front bumper is cracked and the radiators is a few inches further back and cracked (dumped its entire contents of antifreeze on my garage once I got home).

Anyone have a similiar experience. Not sure how much this might cost and whether I should even bother claiming the insurance. Guess this is also a post for WTB - PPW OEM Front Bumper and WTB - OEM Radiator 5AT.

sucks something similar happened to me and it destroyed on of my wheels. I would file a claim and see what happens and also did you get the chp's badge number for proof.

I filed what the CHP calls a "Crash Report". Did you end up being found at fault for the accident? Not sure how this works since there is no 2nd party and I doubt that Caltrans would 1) Admit they dropped cones 2) That the insurance company would even bother trying to sue them.

Any recommendations for an honest and reasonable repair shop in Socal (I live in Marina Del Rey) would be greatly appreciated.
