Default Australian 03 Z - different bumper?

Here's a pic of my stock rear bumper. Why does my bumper have a separate piece around the numberplate? Black car for comparison.

have you seen the bumper for a european model??? their plates are much longer than ours...yet shorter

Yep New Zealand is the same, must be the size of the plate

Looks like they saved money by just creating a drop-in piece they mate to a US spec bumper, rather than making a new mold. I think European cars have thier own mold, though.

Hmm, I've noticed with our antipodean 350's that lip around the number plate also moves a tiny bit, so a lot of the ones I've driven up to 13 now have a tiny scratch marks where the movement has occurred. Grrrrrr!!

The Aussie ones have a massive section for the number plates. I think its also for the dual lights that light it up as well... Not sure though...
