Default Package lost in shipping....what to do?

Has anyone been to the Post Office to ship out a small package and the person you were sending it to not receive it? Well I sent out my factory antenna to a guy here on the forum and he has not received it and it has been almost 2 weeks. When I was at the office the guy weighed the package and I paid for it but I didn’t get a receipt (mistake) because the guy I guess got distracted and started talking to me about my car questioned me what all has been done to it and how he likes the Z and wants to get on and so on. I made sure that I had all the correct info on the package my info and the recipient’s also and it was wrapped all in duct tape so I know that it could have not come open. I plan on going to the Post Office on Monday to try and see what can be done, but I don’t think I will have any positive results. I already offered the guy a refund if I am not able to find anything out, but I just wanted to check and see if this has happened to anyone else.

If the package is insured file a claim with the Post Office.

Without tracking or delivery confirmation, you're pretty much screwed. It could have been lost or it could have arrived and the recipient is taking advantage of the fact that you can't prove it.

more than likely the package was mishandled and will eventually get delivered. It happens a lot.

I've lost two packages I sent in the last year, one w/ UPS, the other w/ DHL. The DHL loss investigation was so ****-poor I will never use them again for any reason.

Thumbs down

DHL is hands down the WORST choice for shipping ANYTHING! They are extremely incompetent and employ very nasty customer service reps.

DHL = Dumb_a_zz Hillbilly Losers

i work at the post office distribution center in the L.A area let me tell you first hand prioriority mail is our main concern first, after we run all the priority mail through the machines those letters and packages are the first to be taken to the docks and out to the trucks!!!

I ordered something online and they use DHL, them fckrs can't make a delivery on time, at least during business hrs, they delivered 1 day late and delivery attempt was 5:45PM on business area so that delayed it two more days since my company closes at 5:30PM..

Someone paid you for your OEM antenna? Wow...that's a first!

And yeah, I don't ship anything but a letter unless it comes with a REAL tracking number (which means I use FedEx and UPS...period).

If you wanted to be a real stand-up guy, refund the buyer his money. I think I have a stock antenna I can send him for free if he needs it, I just have to dig it up.

He is suppose to be checking with his apt. manger tomorrow to see if they are holding it by chance and I will check with the office I shipped it through, if not I will refund his money which I had orginally offerred him because that is the right thing to do. Thanks for the feedback.

Took me 3 months to get the LED reflectors and Luxeon parking lights from Ares. But I'm in Canada, and I think the package got mishandled and eventually arrived like Ztalker stated.

If the addresses were on it, I would have a little faith in the USPS... it may take a while though.

I know this because I had some DVDs shipped back from South Africa via SA Post and US priority mail. Somehow, stuff got screwed, and they assigned me a case number etc... surprisingly it arrived (90+ days later.) I wouldn't hold my breath though...

I'd take kcobean up on his offer...

Shout's out to Nitrouz who came through and saved the day! He is going to send out his factory antenna to the person who was suppsoe to receive mine. By the way I went to the Post office and filed a claim they said they will track it from where I sent it to the receiver's loc. so we will see what happens. Thanks again to Nitrouz, glad to see their are still good people here today.
