Default Touring vs Enthusiast

Okay, so my attempts to find a used PPW 03-05 Z took a dump. Now looking to pick up a new 06.

Is the Touring worth the extra change over the Enthusiast?

Should I wait for the 07 model?

The question is asked at least one each week, and the answer, respectfully, is always the same:

Worth it to who?

Touring owners will say yes, and Enthusiast owners will say no. Happy shopping.

I have a touring, if you want leather and bose go for it... VDC is nice to have if you live in places that get bad weather(dont remember if thats on the ENTH. model or not...) IMO the bose is junk (ill sell you mine if you want it haha) and the leather is hot in the summer, but nice.

i say go w enthusiast. i did. bought leather for it (leatherseats.com), and if you are into sound system just throw a Z enclosures with a jl 10 w6 or w3 and a good amp and your problem is solved. as far as vdc many people dont like it.

Yep!

He's right. You have to decide what it is that YOU want, what your budget will allow, and how you plan to use your car (commuting, cruising, racing, etc.) If you want leather, and the better stereo, and all the bells and whistles then go Touring. It's sometimes hard to pick from all the options you can get!

One way to look at this is to get the most options you can afford. That way, you also have a more valuable car to sell later on.

Many people here do not seem to like the Bose stereo, though, so you might want to consider what edwin350z said above.

Good luck,
Joe

Oh but you know it gives you the same fuzzy warm feeling as when some moron starts up the monthly AT vs. MT Z Family Feud

I got the enth. because I just wanted a Z, any Z. I didnt care for leather and VDC, but I didnt want the base. If YOU want the stuff the touring has, then it should be worth it.

It boils down to each person's idividual taste and budget. I have a GT Roadster w/navi and love everything in it. The Brembos are excellent (for me) love the ventilated/burnt orange seats, and VDC has saved my rear end at least once, so that is excellent to have. (for me) Paid for itself for sure, and then some. Seriously, if there is one time that VDC saves your butt, it's worth it. (to me) And the Bose, it's ok, nothing phenomenal, but acceptable for now. With the top down I'm not going to get the best sound anyway.

The Enthusiast is the best bang for the buck but if it’s worth for you to spend the extra money to have leather seats and some extra gadgets go with the Touring.

I went with the touring bc I really wanted leather seats bc I thought cloth seats look cheap and I've never had leather before. I also got touring bc of the Bose system which is a lot better then the stereo in the enthu. The VDC is nice to have too as well as the heated seats but I guess the only option on the touring that still mean anything to me after owning the car for a year is the leather seats.

All depends on your taste man. I went with the Touring, it was my first new car so I wanted to treat myself to leather.. Lots of people bash the bose system and say it's junk.. "Junk" in comparison to what? The base system? Nope, it's a step up from the base model system. It's not a TOP notch system but it's better than alot of stock setups, I don't really care about crazy loud music and loud base.. The bose has a nice clean sound =). So, if you have the extra money and think you might like these options then go for it.

Performance Nissan has a great side by side comparison table for all of the Z models. Might help you choose.
