Ever notice in the commercials for cars, the windows are always black with tint even the front windshield? Or in the newspaper ads for new cars the windows are always black? because they look better.

As for the OP, if I were a petty thief that depended on breaking into car for gear, I'd steer away from tinted cars because they're harder to see into. You also have to consider that tinted windows are harder to break and remove the glass to get into the car.

As for the OP, if you can and you feel like you want to, do it... it most definitely decreases theft rate, unless you were booming your stereo down the street... There's no reason for a theif to break into a car not knowing if there's anything valuable to steal.. I rather break into a car I can see and know exactly what I'm taking out of it... Oh.. and the sun... it prevents *** burns when you get in your car after 8 hours of 100 degree heat...

It was a joke, Surfer Boy..Damn that LA smog..it's taking it's toll on your psyche....let it go dawg...

Getting tints is "ricer"? SMH, the little "ricer" expression is getting out of hand.

Tints are always good...there is much negative about them. They make your car look nicer, and they help block out sunlight.

i love my tint. makes my car look better. its cooler for CA. and i think if theives can see in it entices them more to get things. if they dont know whats in there for the theif it moght not be worth it to break in unless there is a 100 percent chance they know something is worth something in there.

I've got it figured out: At the moment I'm rockin the driver's side not tinted, and the passenger side about 35%. this way I park the tinted side toward the sun, but theives (who usually show up on the drivers side, I'd guess) can see I aint got **** to steal. (ok, ok, I just bought a door that had no tint on the window.....)

down here where i live. i have no problems with anybody thinking about stealing it.. i guess they are intimidated by the looks. What i think is the typical theif looks at it and thinks its like a porche or something of that nature, then he see's the Nissan badge ad then he think its just a little car like the miatta..lol just my 2 cents
