Please save me on the Civic thread.

+1... I'm pretty sure this just sums up the whole thread.

Guys, what I meant was by no means saying that Z is bad handling car, no way.
I believe it's very very good handling car, but not quite great.
Notice how I mentioned it has a lot to be desired on stock form.
Stock for stock I would take S2000. I have driven it and it is
more agile and handles better around the corner.
It's the weight that gives disadvantage to the Z, and I wish the car was 200lbs lighter from the factory.

I agree that with modification it's anyone's guess.

Stock vs stock 350z wins hands down...

But modified, the IS300 can put down 600-700 rwhp, the Z even if modified probably can't keep up with the IS300

What? Something tells me that you are an inexperienced racer, and short on self-confidence (please correct me if I am wrong). Get out there and test your skills, and push the 350Z to the limits.

I forgot to say Kick Honda butt!
hmm, interesting how the 350Z and the Z06 are behind an integra and a mustang.. must be lapping them =)

The 2JZ-GE VVTI is no where in comparison to the Z's VQ35DE. In terms of modification, both cars will cost a pretty penny.

I'm sure 700 rwhp is very useable in an IS. Seriously, who needs 700 RWHP? Anyone want to comment on how completely boring looking the IS300 is? Also wondering how you could make a general comment like "the Z even if modified probably can't keep up with the IS300"

How modified is this Z?
How Modified is this IS?

I hate these threads.

Both with single turbos Z will win. With a Centrifugal it will be pretty even but the edge would be to the Z. With suspension work the Z will win too. Stock or modded the Z is greater to an IS of equal variables.

Depends on how much boost each one is running.... You really can't compare modified cars to each other, there's just to many variables...

The IS300 owner could drop $20k into boosting and building up his engine while the 350z owner might of just spent $5k on a Stillen Supercharger, so obviously the IS300 would probably be a lot quicker...

Being both cars cost similar when bought new, you could say with a $5k limit on mods which car would be faster, but then again it would depend on which parts from which manufacturer they would get, for example a greedy exhaust might give you more HP then a Nismo exhaust, etc... etc... So you can see there are a lot of variables to take into consideration when comparing modded cars to each other...

Only fair way to compare a car is straight out of the factory, otherwise your comparing apples and oranges.

Only valid statement someone with a modified car could say is "My car is faster then yours", but unfair statement would be "IS300's are faster then 350z's because my modified IS300 beat a stock 350z"

Hope all that makes sense

Nismo versus TRD Exhaust/Headers/Intake/cams/suspension
Prices are very close

Both gain barely anything besides better handling

Z wins

Z versus IS300 with stock block and Turbonetics

It would be close but I would bet on the Zs higher torque and wider tires

Stock, I would take the Z in a heart beat.. I sold my 2002 is300 for a 350zr..

But sometimes I miss the quality on the interior on the is300.. it's better built on the interior.

Well What you guys need to understand is that when we're talking about modding any car. One could easily out perform the other. I mean that why we Modd our Z's right? to be faster than others? Any car no matter if its an IS300, Evo, STi, Z06, or even a Civic, modded, They could all be faster than a Z. As easily it could go the other way around. So its completely useless comparing cars modded.
