I loved my Is300. I has a 2001. I loved the car. It wasnt very fast but all i had was headers, emanage exhaust and ypipe. I was gonna keep it and throw a srt turbo on it but the Z caught my attention and I had to trade. If I had to start over I would have kept the IS300. Its luxury and speed all in one.

Not for everyone, I mod my Z to make it look and sound different, if I pick up a few HP along the way then thats a bonus

I really don't Street Race and I only hit the track maybe once or twice a year with some friends... So to me its more about the fun of modding the actual car then the "My car is faster then yours"

I looked at the IS very hard when I was shopping around. I really like both cars. I'm pleased with my Z but, when I see an IS driving around I can't help to think, what if? As others have said the IS's interior knocks the socks of our Z's.

I would have gotten an Audi if the interior was a big concern.

My buddy has a nice turbo'd is300. Here is the video I shot of his car last year.

http://sio.midco.net/matrix311/is300.wmv

It blows my Z away, notta chance from the line or a roll. His car is a sleeper and honestly the only thing that really could touch him on the streets that we ran into were bikes, thats about it. It pulls really hard.

I am not into mods, so I can't really answer but can comment since I have a 01 IS300 and an 05 Z roadster. Hard to compare the 2 since its a 4 door sedan vs 2 door sports car (GT). I have a K&N system and HKS exhaust on the IS and the Z is stock. The Z is much more fun to drive but the IS is of course more comfortable.

well coming from a boosted is300 I can tell you that there is an enormous amount of 600 -1000hp is300's over at my.is ..... when it comes to boosting cars the IS300 > then the Z and that is a fact. I am in the process of boosting my Z as we speak but i can tell you the is300 will boost much better then the 350Z.

His car is fast, thats all I know. I will try to get some more video at Firebird Raceway or somewhere showing it's speed sometime instead of cookies in a parking lot.

Would you want to compare Z with a jet engine or a rocket motor and a IS 300 with a turbo. I can only guess which is faster.

How is Z heavy, prove it. I have heard this too many times, show me a equivalent car with much much lighter weight.

When I was shopping for a car the two cars in debate were an IS300 and a Z, I bought the Z, Im pretty sure I made the right decision.

It was a hell of a debate both cars have their pros and cons, but performance wise stock vs stock the Z is champion! 300hp vs 215hp, 2 seater vs 4 doors, one is a sports car the other is a sports/luxury sedan. The overall quality of the IS is better but it just cannot match the performance of the Z. My second car (in January) will be either a IS300 or WRX!

Z= winner in my book

You can't deny Toyota's inline 6, that is one hell of a engine. I would love to see a Skyline motor converted onto the 350Z block. Now that would make a more sense when comparing these cars.

Basically to scale a IS300 you have to mod it with a Supra bottom end. So basically it's a Supra engine. So for the 350Z to be in the same ballpark it would need a Skyline inline 6.

From my experience going to Cali Speedway... Only the old guys with their ZO6's , muscle cars, and a bike or two are the ones breaking 11's. I still to this day have not seen a IS300 modded break mid 14's, and Civics are just plain garbage. Z all the way.

One "old" guy had a civic with a 351 cleveland in it. He got 11.3
