Present for my dad
My dad's birthday is coming up and I am going to spend up to $300 on his Z. He has been wanting to turbocharge it for a couple years now but I graduated college last year and my sister is in college now and then my little brother after her so basically he has had to delay such things.
So I figured instead of making him wait until his Z is 10 years old I could give him a little something extra under the hood even if its not turbo.
If you were to spend only $300 on something(s) performance related, what would you choose? This is not including installation, just parts.
I was thinking popcharger but that would leave some cash left over. Any ideas for what else I could get him or something different from popcharger? His car is totally stock. I think its a 2004.

i think u shud get him an intake. either that, or you can buy a popcharger, use some of the money to buy him a new shiftknob, and then any of the money u have left to buy insignificant things for his car (air freshener, etc.)

The spacer is a good idea....so is the popcharger (intake). A starter kit of Zaino too:http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/...ory_Code=Zaino

Other than that.. The K&N Typhoon is the Best Intake Mod, its performance is par with the others but the Sound is Uniquely Exotic and adds a new element of fun to the car.
Where in Allen do you live? I live in that area and we have meets (or did during summer) every 2 weeks. You should get him to come out to one of our meets.
Popcharger is probably the best intake, imo. The spacer isn't a bad idea either (but he can't show off to his friends saying his son bought him it). You could always get him a radar detector - V1, RX65 Pro, 8500 are in that range or slightly above. Lastly, you could get him a few professional driving lessons.

+1 on driving gift. Give him a membership to Chin Motorsports ($50/yr):http://www.chinmotorsports.com/ then he can participate in HPDE and track his Z! Then you can buy him a helmet and Big Brake Kit!!
+1 on Pop-charger + 5/16" spacer. Spacer can be used down the road when going FI, and intake will add some nice sound and compliment the spacer nicely in the meantime (+ can be sold easily when the Turbos go in). Both can be installed with hand tools and a little garage know-how; it'd make a good father/son weekend afternoon project. Oh, and just get the basic spacer with hardware; skip all the Isothermal stuff.
