Z Salute?
I know that there is a salute amongst Z owners, because I've heard it mentioned once, and somebody did some motion with his hand to me on the freeway (don't think he was flipping me off...) so WTF is it?
hah, i want to know this. just waved at a CS this morning, who waved back - felt all good until hubby started cracking up and saying, "what was that?" whatever, aren't geeks suppose to be cool?

Figure out an alernate salute...
I always thought this one would be appropriate (a variation on Wayne's three finger salute). True 350Z devotees could even get a large 5 tatooed on the palm of their hand to complete the "350".

By the way, cut me some slack on the girl's stupid expression, it's wasn't easy finding this .gif!
Finally, I found this information in my search for the .gif: In France, this signal means you feel something is worthless; in Brazil, it is an obscene gesture you'd especially want to avoid if you're trying to cement a business relationship; in Japan, it means you're talking about money; and in Italy, it is often construed as a general insult.

When I flash the lights at anyone (be it a "hello" or a "get out of my way!") I pull the turn signal stalk towards me, which is activating the halogen high beams. No damage to the HID lamps. I imagine (hope) that this is what most people do.

I don't think so. The HID & the halogen lights are activated when you pull the stick back.... at least on my car it does.
