Ya $400 is a little steep but you never have to worry about LED's burning out

I agree with '06s or tinted. If you really want to be different, you can get the '06 LED JDM ones that are clear. I think those would look pretty good on a red Z. However, my choice would be to keep it stock or tint it.

actually guys I have a red Z too and the back I always tought look wiered b/c RED tail lights blend into RED car and I almost bought the Z black carbon fiber tail lights from ebay. but the RED on RED grew on me. BUT!!! your not alone!!! I was thinking of geting those too. I think your tail lights lighting up in a Z is defenetly neat.

There not as subtle as you think. Honestly it was one of my favorite mods for the money. World of difference even during the day.

Tinted '06

My friend complained about the brightness of the LEDS at traffic lights when he was driving behind me. Said you can't miss 'm
So, safety will improve as well if you get '06 rear lights. They light up like hell so nobody will overlook them!

Get the 06 tailights if you don't already own an 06.
+1

Just because a given part can be changed/modded, doesn't mean it needs to or should be.

Sometimes it seems like people want to change out all of the stock parts just because they are that, "stock parts", even though the factory parts may look perfectlly fine.

That upgrade ain't all that subtle, my friend. If I had an 03-05 Z, it would be the best sub-$500 visual upgrade my money could buy.

On a Redline the stocks match perfectly. Keep them.
