Default Nissan Service Sucks!

I call Nissan... a dealership right next to my house. I get all my parts and service done with these guys. I tell the service guys that I wanna get the "recall" taken care off. The service Rep tells me it will take 1 day to do, and tells me to drop off my car the next day.

The following morning I drop off my Z and walk to work (its only a 5min walk) This was at 7:30am.
I wait for the whole day for a call and or update. They never called me. So it was about 4:15pm and I decided to call them. I call the Rep at Nissan. He says "hey we have'nt done anything to your car yet becuase you have a aftermarket alarm and it goes off when the battery is unplugged" I said yeah well the key to turn off the alarm is in the car, you guys could of called me! The Rep says " I did call!" I told that guy bull crap I have my phone on me and have been with out a car all day!

I work right behind these guys! the guys at Nissan know me! If he did call me and I didnt answer why not call my job or call my cell again!!!!????

So I went to Nissan, pissed off!!!! picked up my car and was leaving, The service rep said "do you wanna reschedule?" I said "NO I'LL GO SOMEWHERE ELSE" and left!

Isn't that the lamest service ever???

Who here lives in Portland Or has had their recall done? Where did you go?

You should have turned the alarm off when you dropped it off...

true, i used to have an alarm that would automatically lock the doors and turn on about 30 seconds after taking the key out of the ignition. whenever i would take my car in for service or even a car wash i would always let them know not to leave the key inside. either way they should have called him instead of letting it sit there all day. thats crap service

They said that they did call. Did you verify the number where they were to get ahold of you before you left the dealership? Is the the number they called. What happened when they called. Busy? Voicemail? Granted it does suck that this happened but, there still is the possiblity that you share in the blame for them not being able to reach you.

dealerships are not NISSAN... NISSAN does not own any dealerships, they are all individually or owned by dealership company's...

call 800-NISSAN1 and they can help you find a dealership that can work with your needs

they have the key, they could have turned it off themselves, if they're pros they should know how to do it. Sounds like a lame excuse.

gl finding another place Omar.

They are not pros on random aftermarket alarms. If they break something, it's coming out of their pocket. The dealer did the right thing by not screwing with it.

If that was the case, they should flat out refuse taking cars in that have aftermarket alarm system, because "they could break it". They're not modifying it, just setting it in valet mode, it's pretty universal.

You may want to ask in the Northwest section about dealership recommendations.

As to your experience, +1 on finding out what phone number they called. If they did, they should have left a message or you should at least see it on caller id. If they called and didn't leave a message, definitely poor service.

He said the key was in the car, so I have to assume that he means he left the key for the alarm in the center console or something. The mechanics probably did not know where it was. Not their fault.

Nissan service does suck... there are a few good dealerships that you'll hear about on here, but many more with ****-poor service.
