Bought an 03 with 18,000 miles on it and I have only had the window motor repaired.

Only thing I have had to do in 30,000 miles myself.

Hmm.. '05 with 26k miles and all I've had to fix so far is the rear axle clicking noise.

Sorry to hear that.

I've had my 04 Roadster for 31,000 miles, only reason it needed to go to the dealer was for the Right Control Arm and both rear bearing needed to be replaced, but those were all covered by TSB's.

I did need to get my left front bearing replaced, but that was becuase I spun out and hit a curb.

So no complaints here, especially for a first year model on the roadster.

Edit: Also got the front tires replaced for free for the feathering issue.

I've owned four different Nissan's and only had to get non-scheduled maintenance done once(done under warranty), so this has definitely been in the shop a few more times than the others, but over all no complaints. The ride is worth the extra visits to the dealer.

is this your first real sports car you've bought new???
Lotus Elise owners pay more for there cars and have rattles and panels come loose all in the name of weight savings...... with my Z sure the rear squirter leaks under accel and the window leaks after 80mph on the highway, and my tilton clutch and flywheel can wake the dead with the rattle but let me tell you i dare a porshe to step up..... buahahahaha

oh yeah i guess my point was sport cars are built to go fast not last and thats what a service contrat is for.....

That cracked me up somethin' fierce. Hold on...

I agree with sports cars being built fast but not to last. That is one thing to consider when buying any real sports car. It's like a hot girl, they look nice, perform well most of the time, but any little thing will set them them off, etc.

Well I gotta admit that this is the least reliable car I've owned to be honest.
But it sure is fun to drive.

i've bought and sold over 15 vehicles(all purchased new since 1985) to name a few....toyota 4x4 truck, benz M class, lexus400, dodge mini van, chevyZ71, ford focusZX3, VW jettaVR6, acura RSX, pontiac, Mazda3i and 4 nissans. My 03 chrome silverZ is by far the best in terms of owner satisfaction is concerned. Nothing couldn't be fixed under warranty by Nissan. My Z has no rattles or squeaks and the original tranny shifts like a hot knife through butter btw.

I'm at 67k miles. Disagree with everyone about reliability. My base is very simple machine and extremely reliable due to its simplicity. Which was one of the resons I bought the base. It is mostly mechanical. The only electronics in it are the ABS brakes. You want to see poor reliability, I will lend a 1994 Chrysler Concorde I had. Everytime you turned the car on something new happened.

03 with over 60K.............no problems.
If your story isn't extremely exaggerated, look into the lemon law.

03 with 35K and only had it in the shop once for passenger side window motor. I'll never own another car besides a Nissan.

I just can't wait till I can trade it in and never buy another Nissan product again!
Hmm, I did love my 350 but has been a nightmare, pretty much a Friday car after someone's very alcoholic lunch.

All this aside I still keep looking after the Zed and waxing it like I did brand new, and I've persisted to get everything fixed, thinking of when my car will be 100% again and be a pleasure to drive, instead of nerve wrecking.

Have a little faith, everything is fixable or parts replacable and they are a great drive generally.

Good luck!!

if you have enough problems with the car being in the shop, you can file for arbitration and nissan should buy the car back in full. they can put you into another nissan car or another Z. some guy i knew had a brand new 2005 chevy SSR and was in the shop over 15 times for numerous things. he had no choice but to do that and just got a vette instead. chevy bought his truck back without much fighting and put him into a vette.
if you feel you have enough of a case to plead towards nissan, then go for it. you would be suprised if you gave it a shot. i am assuming you purchased new? i dont recall if you said that or not. (had to read through 3 pages lol!)

my dad had the same concord too (1994). it was crap. exterior parts fell off two weeks off the lot, ac went out in 6 months, parking brake was broken a couple years later, latalatalata. just gotta be realistic about cars. no car is perfect and no car will last forever. some are just worse than others such as the chrysler my dad owned.

59K with a new longblock, tranny and clutch all within the past 8 months. It sucks, I know... But at least Nissan has stood behind the repairs.
