Three months back I asked, "Is the Honeymoon over?"
In this thread here, I started a downward spiral of pissing and moaning about my car. You might get a laugh out of the fact that "Mr. Pissbag" is starting to come around. Again.
This weekend I passed the 10K mile mark and commited to purchasing a major mod. My Z and I went to counseling and decided that we can't give up on this relationship just yet.
While most of my complaints were grounded in facts and actual **** that was happening to my Z, the underlying catalyst for my anger was the premise that I had just bought a new car and would have hoped that Nissan would get "the return of the Z" right. As the sting of first-year ownership has leveled off, I find myself looking foward to the next few months.
I've decided that I'm not going to take it anymore and do something about it. The thing is, I'm not relying on NNA to do a goddamned thing for me. I've ordered the NISMO S-Tune suspension kit w/sways to fix the stock suspension. Since other suspension components appear to be deficient (non-adjustable front camber/caster), I'll turn to other members of the forum like dwnshift to build my car up one piece at a time until I get it right. All go, no show. That's my new mantra for the next 10K miles with my Z. I plan on keeping this car for years to come and turning it into a long-lasting project.
I do have to thank Nissan for delivering a car that I honestly enjoy driving the **** out of, love staring at and look forward to making my own, but at the same time have to say, "Get your **** together." You made some mistakes, so fix them in future production runs. We're not a bunch of base Sentra owners here. We deserve better than this as ambassadors for your flagship.
