350Z Comparrisons?

We need to be honest here. Sincerely, the 350Z should never, ever in a thousand years be compared to an EVO, WRX STI, Vette, and other various cars that some individual 350Z drivers compare their car to.
Let's get serious... What is in the same class as the 350Z?

"Sporty/performance cars consist of two-seat roadsters, 4-cyl hatchbacks, and V8 muscle cars. The emphasis in this class is affordable performance."
This is their comparrison...

Whether we like it or not, the EVO is in a totally different world, along with it's arch enemy the WRX STI; racing for 1st place in never never land. Both of which do not fit the previously mentioned sports car scene.
No offense, talk to WRX STI and EVO drivers for their thoughts, and do not compare them to a 350Z; it's like comapring my 04' LTD/TRD 4WD crew cab TUNDRA to my 350Z. I can drive both equally fast down the road, yet one does it better and feels like it should be going that fast, the other... better slow it down before you roll it.
Lame comparrison, or should I say... no comparrision between a rally bread boosted 4dr(WRX STI / EVO) and a unibody shared by at least 3 other modles(Z). The Z is a sexy grocery getter, not a tarmac ripper. They are not even in the same auto insurance classification!!!
GET A CLUE folks!

I don't know if I agree. Seems that we are about a half second slower to 60 and half to 3 quarters of a second off in the quater mile http://www.albeedigital.com/supercou...0-60times.html depending on which numbers you look at. On top gear the Z was less then 2 seconds slower around thier test track (roughly 90 second run) than the STI or the EVO http://www.bbc.co.uk/topgear/powerlaps.shtml .
While I would never say that stock for stock the Z is faster (or even quite as fast) , I think you may be selling it a little short.

well let me start by saying most of those comparisons are for a roadster 350z which is 10k more than the coupe, when you take that into account (if you dont really ar about the drop top) then the 350z pwns the competition (also since the coupe is a little lighter/faster) due to price
i dont think that the 350z should be compared to stis or evos either, they are difrent types of cas, im not saying the 350z is worse, or evos/sti's better, they are just DIFFRENT types of cars
lets get one thing straight to start with, 350z starts at 26k, lancer 30k (but you have to spend 36k to get a 6 speed) and 32k for an sti
next stis/evos are awd, that alone makes them a diffrent car, they are squared looking and ugly, where as the 350z is sleek and RWD
the 350z you sacrifice some speed for looks and style, if all ou want is a fast car you can go buy some used something or other and put out a ridiculouse amount of horsepower for less than a new 350z, but ill stick with a 350z becuase i like driving a good looking car
hell you could probably make a civic faster than a z for less money, but its going to be a civic
anyway i agree they shouldnt be compared but not because they are some demi gods that are so far infront of the 30z that there is no comparison

I passed on Evos and Subes because you have to keep them boiling to enjoy what they do best - in every day use, they're econoboxes. Sure, they're endless thrills when you can use the power and handling. But that doesn't encompass driving to work, and my Z makes me feel good even when I'm crawling along among the great unwashed. And every time I see the Z reflected in a building I pass, it makes me happy. If I had an Evo or STi, every time I saw my reflection in it while stuck in traffic, I'd ask myself why I bought it. To me, those huge wings look ...er ....ah ......I just gotta say it: DUMB! If you like 'em, great - enjoy! But to me there's no comparison.
BTW - buying a car to help you get a date is just plain pathetic. As is true everywhere else, you'll get what you pay for (which, in this case, will be a wonderful car and a woman who will move on when she finds one she likes better). You can troll more successfully for one-night stands with a nice ride, but wouldn't it be better if she actually liked something about you other than your car?

At least be politically correct when you insult someone... It is not "retard" any more, it is now... "mentally challenged." See; doesn't that sound better?!
Again, the 350Z has no comparrison to an EVO. It's like apples to carrots. Both foods are tasty and satisfying, yet are in two different categories. One is a fruit and grows from trees, the other is a vegatable(sp?) and grows in the ground. I like both, but I don't compare them, nor eat them in the same setting... same goes for a rally car, and a sports coupe.
*NOTE TO SELF*... Use the spell check! WAIT... we don't have one!!!

I say comparrisons of cars are for what the individual uses them for, as you have said, but the performance between two cars just to say this is fasater at that, and this one beats this and blah, blah is... R E D I C U L O U S(sp?).
I have a truck, b/c it does what trucks do, hauls stuff and goes over stuff and take more than 2 people places. I have a Z b/c I like it and it is fun and looks great. Never would you hear me compare how the truck handles or accelerates in comparrison to my Z. These types of comparrisons are ASSANINE, pointless, and a waste of space on this forum.
I'm done with this thread.

I think the controversy comes from your statement that the 350z is a grocery getter while the STI/EVO are tarmack rippers...
It might be true that you can't compare the two cars but you were taking a cheap shot at the 350z...
Just when I think, "Surely this person has reached and encapsulates the limits of Internet tedium" you go and push the boundary even further. Your post is an orgy of stultifying cacophonous verbal depravity; an exercise in literary impotence, and an offense to all of good taste and decency.
I suppose I should have some sympathy for your handicap. You are obviously paralyzed from the neck up. You could type every thing you know on the subject on back of a microscopic postage stamp and still have room leftover for a shopping list. You've got a big hole in your head, now shut it. When you are at a loss for words, your loss is our gain. I am reminded of something relevant that Benjamin Disraeli said: "He was distinguished for ignorance - for he had only one idea and that was wrong."
Most repair manuals are far more interesting than you, and far less turgid to read. Genius does what it must, talent does what it can, and you had best do what you're told, you dyslexic lobotomy patient. Maybe you wouldn't be such a Jerk-In-The-Box if you weren't intellectually outclassed by dead sheep; if your weren't so fat that when God said "Let there be Light", he told you to move your fat *** out of the way, or if your face wasn't so ugly that visitors to the Ugly Palace pay money NOT to see you. Who am I kidding? You would.
Let the bible thumper spew his ignorance, after all, it's what they do best.
