Things you wish you knew when you bought your Z?

The things I miss compared to my previous car (3000GT) are
1. The toggle head light switch. Instead of having the 2 state switch to change between high and low beams. I prefer the old pull the lever and the lights change state.
2. Being able to crack the windows or wind them up from the key fob remote.
3. Sometimes the front wheel drive, other times I enjoy my new rear wheel drive.
I wish I'd had the patience to wait for my preference of Daytona Blue/charcoal interior instead of settling for the redline/frost interior that the dealership had.
These are all minor things, everything else I like about the Z.

FWD is pretty fun on a light car. My sisters RSX feels like it handles pretty good and is more predictable than my Z. I always throw it around since its 5 speed auto w/ the shifter thing :-D Plus, its got almost the same gearing as my Z. Her car can hit 72mph in 2nd gear!

I wish I had known about the excellent shifting qualities, superb sounding and flexible engine, crisp handling and solid stiff chassis sooner. I wouldn't have waited so long. I still wish it had about 100 more horsepower and 700lbs less weight. Overall it is a very balanced car with good power, handling and brakes.

I wish I knew how many Z's were going to flood my town. It's starting to get ridiculous.
I also wish I knew that modding this car would be expensive, regardless of how popular it's gotten in the last 4 years.

You should read this thread!!
Just about all points (positive and negative) are covered.
I still feel the same way as when I posted in that thread.

I wish I knew I would be able to afford a TT kit for a while (medical bills... bad kidneys). I probably would've bought something with a factory turbo. Maybe an Evo, Mazdaspeed6, or even a Solstice GXP.

I'm right there w/ ya' Rat. I have had ZERO major issues w/ my car. In 03', for the price it was/is an all around better performer than anything in its class. $27k...come on. Plus the majority of people are laughing at those f&f evo and sti guys for driving factory supd' up lancers and imprezas... they will laugh at themselves in 10-15yrs. when they look back and see how but ugly those cars were. Unless modifying the evos and stis from 03' my Z will run w/ them and that's sorry considering their sacrificing so much in looks for marginal performance gain.
Here's an 05'. http://www.rsportscars.com/eng/cars/lancer_evo.asp
