When I was younger, I remember my brother and uncle had the 3 series (1987-88 model). Both cars were around 50k miles and had a motor problem. Oil mixed with water (there was a crack on the head).

Don't do it man.

Trading an 06 in for an 02? Doesn't seem like it should be a good idea, even if the M3 is slightly more 'polished'.

Doesn't matter what year the m3 is, the m3 owns 350z hands down in every aspect.

Thanks!

The blind love you have for the M3 as you have shown below will make people not take you seriously and dismiss you as a fanboy that a reasonable debate should not be wasted upon.

It'll own your wallet, too, but, on the other hand, will give you every opportunity to spend lots of time with the BMW service manager so you'll make a new friend and get to know him very, very well. Rebuilt my BMW's engine at 35k miles because it laid a smoke-screen that would have done a WW II destroyer-escort proud.

Remember: BMW stands for Bring More Wrenches.
