Yeah well nobody ever designed the mustang with "handling" in mind. The mustang always has been, is, and always will be an american muscle drag car. Some people don't care about handling. Some people do. It doesn't mean that any one car is better than any other... they all have advantages and disadvantages.

IMO, doesn't matter how quick the Mustang is. It looks like ***. If you want a '60's muscle car, buy a '60's muscle car. I'm not just anti-Mustang either. I hate all that retro sh*t. The PT Cruiser, HHR, the new Camaro... they all look like ***.

I don't like Retro either. But they don't like modern. Jus' a matter of opinion.

This new Simpsons episode is f**kin' hilarious!

That red Mustang GT is gorgeous. Very nice car.

Oh yeah, the other thing the Mustang has going for it is price. You can get a fully loaded GT coupe for under $30k. The Shelby Cobra version coming out is 500hp supercharged, starting at $42k.

Appreciate it but it will do little good. Mustang owners are as enthusiastic as 350Z owners. The exception is the V6 Mustang: They get no respect from anyone.

My friend just got his Shelby GT500 Black on Gunmetal Stripes a few weeks ago. 550ish HP for $70k.

My cousins boss (my chiropracter) jsut got his Shelby GT500 White on Blue Stripes around the same time also, for the same money.

I think the demand is so high for them down here in Florida that FORD can get away with charging an absurd $70k for a mustang.

Don't get me wrong, the car is nice but... def not worth my $70k. My fathers red mustang (see my post above) turns more heads than the $70k GT500 when they are side by side, and it is less than half the cost. Even with a Turbo or Supercharger setup on the GT, it is still nearly half the cost.

Only thing about the GT500 is that you have a 5.4 (ish) liter engine... so you can make 600-700hp much easier than in the stock GT engine. But who the hell cares, right? 500 not enough for you? lol...

$70k!!!! Holy ripoff! I'd rather get a used Viper for that price. Or better yet, a C6 Z06.

I always see all these 350z vs Mustang threads, and like a lot of you are saying it's just kind of what style you're after. A car to me seems like an extension of your personality, and that played a big part in choosing my next car. The performance numbers between the two seem close enough that that should not really be the deciding factor. I chose the Z b/c it seemed like if given the choice, James Bond would probably opt for the Z. Cheesey I know, but does that mean it's a better car? No. Do I make all my decisions by what James Bond would do? Hell no haha All I'm sayin is the Mustang is one hell of a street rod right outta the box, great price, nice styling and can be modded real fast real cheap. But the Z just seems to have a more refined, stealthy, aggressive yet elegant presence to it. Sort of like the brute strength action hero vs the suave, smooth talking, 'all the cool gadgets' hero. Completely just my opinion, but it's just kind of what style you want to represent you, not which is better - end all be all- type deal. [End rant]
