This is in regards to your closing of the thread entitled "impotent" message. If the forum wants to offer their opinions and suggestions on how the pre-order process is going and how information distribution could be improved... why not?
Jay, please understand. This is the site for all of my information inquiries. It's the best. However, the moderation is getting ridiculous with that last thread closing. I don't want this to be a long thread of opinionated members echoing my sentiments, but let's at least be able to offer some opinions, applause or even frustration with Nissan without having fear of being watched and reprimanded by moderators like yourself. Moderators who seem to be in Nissan's back pocket.
I've been a member on this site since the old days without complaint. Not even about the press embargo thing OR the Nissan phone # thing. Nothing but praise. I hope I've been able to offer some insight on the Z during my tenure here. But that last thread "interruption" was truly unecessary, Jay.
Again, thanks for allowing us to keep busy here until we're behind the wheel. And Jay, please, take my post as merely a suggestion rather than anger.

Your point is well taken but let me nip this in the bud. I'm glad he closed it. I did not take it as heavy handed, he was just trying to change the focus/mood. And my title selection did not go off as intended, my fault.
I was also trying to turn the focus (still am) of the original thread into recommendations for Nissan customer relations improvement and thought "impotent" was an appropriate/humorous title since I doubt it would be listened to by Nissan (come on, they must have already thought of it). However I fear it was taken as an insult as it was a twist on the word important and I believe he is feeling a lot of frustration right now, differences of importance always seem to do that. That was not my intention, apologies. The original message was VERY important.
I got my suggestion in so all is well. If others have suggestions, post em, doesn't have to be to my original thread. Perhaps a better subject title such as, um "Suggestions for Nissan".

P.S. Hang in there JmanZ, it'll all work out, your guidance is greatly appreciated.

Apparently, Jay has made a decision to close all threads critical of Nissan. How nice.

Guys, I could care less if you want to be critical of Nissan. Do whatever floats your boat. I closed the first thread because it was time to move on and others stated that as well. I for one have better things to do with my time than go over the same things, again and again.
Then someone posted a new thread with basically the same thing.
My first choice was to delete the thread completely. I didn't think there was any need for the second thread, and I am not going to let this site turn into the ***** fest that zcar.com has often become.
Those that cannot deal with it, my stepping in before fights and arguements start, can head on back to zcar.com. It's that easy.
Enforcer... haha, I didn't mean to change the spelling, I thought you had a typo. Sorry bud, I'll change it back for ya.
I honestly thought you made a small typo as sometimes, people make in titles.
I get posts and PM's from people that like the site, that are fine with the way it's being run. With a group this large, I expect to have people thinking I am public enemy numero uno. I am fine with that. It's as easy as stay if you like it here, leave if you don't.
Not trying to be a jerk.

Let me see if I get this, the moderator or webmaster will remove from the site items they consider redundant. ? If that is the case, then most web sites including this one would be have maybe 2 threads and ten posts.
What happens if I am critical of the way the site is run, will my post be removed?
If you do not want posts that discuss and yes criticize the way things are run at many different levels, then you need not remove the posters, you just need to remove the discussion forum format and become a news and info site.
I will check back in a few days to see if disent is still muffled and stifled, and if so remove myself from being a member here.

J,
Sorry, my comments were not intended to be sarcastic. I should have expressed my disagreement in a more diplomatic manner. Thanks for clarifying your position. Being a former admin for several forums, I respect your decision, even if I do not agree with it. Perhaps my frustration was misdirected at you and for that I apologize. I'm actually very happy with all the information in this forum and I believe it to be the best of the 350Z forums. May I suggest you move threads to the off topic section if they become redundant? I'm happy Nissan has acknowledged our complaints and is working to improve communication. I believe that's all we really wanted in the first place.

Take it from some people that have been there and done that. Overmoderation kills a board. People will get tired and eventually give up. Just let the spasms run their course.
Raceboy, iMR2, you know who I'm talking about (KenDud)...

I think Jay's walking it just fine.

that said, no board is perfect and is constantly evolving.

the tide can turn at anytime. i'm still new and observing, but it appears that people are just putting up with issues of moderation here because it seems to be where the large number of 350Z info seekers come to. Those that want to be in the loop will naturally want to hang around where the majority of people are even if they have to grit their teeth sometimes. the board is easy to navigate compared to others, which also helps in attracting people too.

Look at what guys like Scafremon does: he camps out at NNA just to make sure this site has the first photos of the cars "in the wild." And if you look at the posts back then, there was almost NO acerbic bickering, just a great exchange of useful information.
I myself made sure I brought a digital video camera to an event that MIGHT have 350Zs so I could post video with engine revving sounds HERE. I then spent hours editing, encoding, and distributing the video. I sure wouldn't do that for a ZCAR.com, and if this board was filled with useless whining I wouldn't have done it here either.

Sorry, couldn't help myself.
There is zcarchat.com where you can learn all kind of things from people that were formerly banned from zcar.com but now are allowed to post at Spencer and Dereks other site.
A wealth of knowledge, not! But an entertaining read.
I personally prefer vBulletin to the software run on other sites that is poor to navigation and hard to read (like beige on black). I hang around here, but I have a subconcious /ignore for those threads that bug me. So I don't find the drivel annoying at all, just a product of the masses looking for information on something new with no other sources available.
Early in the year, when the Z was just taking shape before pricing was announced, this board was quiet, friendly and just as speculative. In fact, I think we still had a post a day asking about the horsepower.
It's just a slight storm until every sees the car in person for themselves. And then it will simmer down and we'll have to worry about all the "I smoked a Ferrari," "I smoked a Corvette," and "I smoked a Yugo!" posts...

2) Again exactly. This car will be faster than all the C4 'Vettes other than ZR1, competitive with C5, faster than about 1/3 the Ferrari's produced over the last 20 years (most notably the Mondial & the whole 308/328/Quatrovalve, etc. series.
But you can also add many Porsche 911s, etc. to that list.
