Default Any "old school" Z owners here?

My first car was a well used "74 260Z. I had some great times in that car. I was curious if any members have owned both old and new. I sold mine for $500 with 200k miles and still running decent, but the rust had taken over. Later...

Default One of each.

In order of ownership ... 280Z, 240Z, and a 260Z (wish I still had the 260Z). I sold the 260Z to a guy I worked with and he still has it on the road.

I bought this 260Z new in 1974. Then my second Z 30 years later. Does that qualify as old school?

I owned a '78 280Z for a couple of years. Just recently bought an '06 350Z. I wished I could have kept the old Z but when the 1st baby came, the two-seater had to go!

I owned a 1974 260Z for 5 years.. It had 187,000 miles on it when I sold it. It had triple Weber carbs and headers and I must say, it was quite fast...I then purchased a 1970 240Z but the frame was just to bad to restore.. I ended up with a 1971 240Z that came from California. It had zero rust and ran great..I kept it until my 2003 350Z arrived on Sept 17,2002. While the original models were fun, the new "Z" runs rings around them.. By the way, I had a chanvce to bring a 1969 Frailady Z back from Japan in early 1969 but it was right hand drive and I just wasn't sure how easy it would be to drive in the US.. Oh well..

Number one son (born a few months after I got the '78 new) rode in a modified infant carrier strapped to the parcel shelf with racing harnesses until he was too big to do so. I bought the '82 used about 6 months before he was old enough to drive, thinking it would be a good starter car for him. After driving it for a while, I decided he needed a newer, slower car!

'78 coupe 5 speed, silver with black vinyl interior
'82 T-top 5-speed, black with tan leather
and now '06 Enthusiast coupe 5A/T, silver with black cloth

I had a 1985 300zx non-turbo 5mt red on tan leather, with the digital dash cluster and a sexy female voice that told me when I was low on gas or if my door was open. I miss having the t-tops. Bought it with 45k miles and sold it with 185k miles still on the original clutch.

Since 1979...280Z, 280ZX, 300Z, 300Z, 300Z, 350Z. Had an Italian Cadillac in there for a few months, but had to get back to Z's. My son now has the last 300Z.

I guess I am surprised that there were this many were prior Z owners .I can appreciate brand loyalty. I love the pics of the green 260. Brings back fond memories. Any more pics of past Z's? Later...

Never owned a Z before this one, but we built a 260z with SR20 for a customer if that counts for anything.

When I was in high school, my perents backed out on selling me their '78 280Z, so I went and found an '80 280ZX. I spent many months and $ getting everything redone (motor, interior, exterior, stereo, wheels/tires) only to have it totalled by some guy who was DUI. Broke my heart. . . up until last April when I got my 350.

Purchased my '94 Z32 in 1998 and have owned it ever since. Thinking of breaking the Z progression and going with the G35 here shortly

The day I drove it home.
