Default LoJack info please

I will be buying my car pretty soon curious what you guys paid for LoJack who got it or not.

I am sure the dealers push that product hard. I don't want to be paying 1500 for somthing when I can get a normal alarm for 300.

If I remember correctly (happens less and less lately!) I paid the dealer $275 last October for my LoJack on the 350. Regards, Jim

I paid $600, but it wasn't low jack. I got this thing called the force tracker. I think lowjack uses towers to locate your car, so theoretically it might not work everywhere. The force tracker thingy uses satellite so it always works (at least in the US). If I sell my Z (yeah right) I can put the Force tracker on another car free of charge-don't know if you can do the same with the lowjack. I am still trying to decide if it was worth 600 bucks. My insurance gave me a significant discount ~150 so i guess it could pay for itself.

Jeff Ostroff of the very informative http://www.carbuyingtips.com says LoJack costs about $80 to produce, is sold to dealers for $300, who usually resell it for about $600. Stanford Nissan tried to sell it to me for $999 -- I'm glad I didn't pay it!

I am going to the dealership to pick up my car tonight actually (yay my order is in ) But I don't think I will be getting lojack. Force tracker sounds good. I guess I will ask insurance company.

Does anyone know if LowJack works in Hawaii? And does anyone have additional information on Force Tracker? Thanks
