JmanZ posted this news in an earlier thread. I'm reposting here because he did not use "brickyard" in subject line & I thought many Bricks might miss it. Soooooo, with proper credit given....

Jman posted that Nissan will discontinue the Brickyard color in 2004 per the "rumor" posted on the Zzzzz sites.

I suspect most of we Bricks will consider this a good thing.

I asked about this when I picked up my Brick.
The Dealer said that it will be another shade of Red, possibly darker.

I, for one, won't miss it. It's a cool color, but I don't think it belongs on the Z....doesn't look right IMO.

 

Too bad, I was thinking about changing from Silverstone to Brick when I get the Z Roadster...now what color do I get...hmm.

A color available only for the first model year. We Brickers have something special.

 

JmanZ said the replacement color would be another silver that was similar to the first car show Z last year. If that turns out right,
the color will knock people's socks off. It is like a "liquid" silver.

You might look for a thread titled, I think, "Color change for 2004".

As a Brickyard owner I'm personally pissed when I see another one on the road, so I'm ecstatic about the discontinuation. It'll totally be a collector's item, and the accolades alone from friends and random strangers make it a dumb decision on Nissan's part. Oh well . . .

My Brickyard is not going to be a collector's car because I'm going to drive it. I'm not leaving the miles for somebody 20 years from now.

But I really like the idea of having a unique color after Nissan cranks up production. On a trip this week I had several people come up at rest stops and comment on the car and especially the color. Put it in the sun so the gold metal flake pops out and it draws them like bees to honey.

 

I wonder how many Brick Tracks were produced....that might be the rarest model of all.
