i had a new 05 auto mustang and corvette before I had my z. I ran a 13.5 consistently with intake/exhaust and tune..mustang is cheaper to make fast and is a good for just going straight..handling is crap compared to the z. fit and finish of the mustang way better than previous years but still not up to par with foreign cars. exterior wise only thing mustang had better was paint...didn't chip like crappy nissan paint. I know all of you say..it's the water based paint but no..it's nissan paint. I had an altima years back and same thing with the front bumper...chips everywhere. my mustang and corvette had great paint. if all of you are wondering...would've kept the vette but it was just too expensive to keep.fast as hell..had an auto and ran 12.6 with intake/exhaust/tune.didnt' want to pay $600 anymore so i traded it in for my Z that i have now..as I look back I wish I drove a Z before I bought the mustang.I would of bought the Z hands down. the z is auto. haven't taken it out the the track yet but feels faster than the mustang in stock auto form...I think I ran a 14.5 with the mustang stock..live in florida crappy weather. If I were you I would keep the Z or trade it in for an 07 or possible a special edition 08 maybe.

Let me tell you though...engine bay looked easy to work in. Anyway..., loved the look and power feel but i think the Z feels quicker and more stable. Just felt good to walk away from and into my Z.

The only thing that's gonna compete with the Z in terms of power, handling and refinement is going to be something German or Italian and much more money (excluding the G35, since it's basically the same car).

I like the look of the new mustang, but in general ford sucks IMO. If I was every gonna american it would be Chevy baby! My fam has had bad luck with ford (explorers, expeditions, mustangs) crap crap crap!! Really its all about chevy for me, ford has a bad rep and is going under...I can understand why!

A buddy of mine has an 05 GT. The other night we traded cars and went messing around. While driving his car, I could make a list a mile long of things that just completely SUCK about it. The shifter was freakin aweful. It takes an act of congress to get it to go into gear. The ergonomics are completely horrible. The seats feel hard like a stadium chair, and it feels about as nimble as an elephant. STAY WITH THE Z. I'm giving you fair warning.

If you are somewhere and you see a raffle for the mustang go ahead and spend the $3.00 (its probably going to a good cause) maybe you will even win. But dont spend more than 3 bucks
