Protection Policies - PayPal Buyer Protection

Will PayPal Buyer Protection cover all eBay categories?

eBay Motors parts and accessories will be covered, however, motor vehicles (cars, boats, planes), Live Auctions and the Mature Audiences category will not be covered. Sellers cannot indicate PayPal as a payment method during the Live Auctions or the Mature Audiences category listing process and therefore those listings will not be eligible.

HERE'S WHAT THEIR POLICY STATES:

Protection Policies - PayPal Buyer Protection - Buyers

How does PayPal protect me?

PayPal offers a unique combination of protection programs.
PayPal's industry-leading fraud prevention measures and our one-of-a-kind method of keeping your financial information private from sellers make us a safe way to pay online.
When you make a payment using PayPal, your financial information is never shared with the seller.
PayPal's Resolution Center and PayPal Buyer Protection are available to help ensure that you are satisfied with the transaction.
Full protection against unauthorized payments sent from your account.
Dispute resolution on PayPal purchases through the Buyer Complaint Process.
Free purchase protection up to $1,000.00 USD on items eligible for PayPal Buyer Protection. Purchases made on eBay Express receive full protection coverage at no additional cost and unlimited claim payouts on damaged items or orders that were not received.

BOTTOM LINE: ANYTHING THAT COSTS MORE THAN $1,000, YOU'RE TAKING A CHANCE ON GETTING IT BACK, IF FRAUD IS INVOLVED

Which is why you use the Ebay purchase protection (http://pages.motors.ebay.com/service...otection.html). Not likely that someone is going to buy a car using paypal

Ebay is a great place to buy cars as long as you stick to local sales that will allow you to see the car in person before bidding.

You want to see the car before you purchase it. I have been using ebay for close to 8 years now and I only deal with sellers who have a 98% or better positive feedback rating. I would not buy a car though sight unseen because they could be selling it because it has some problems and never tell you about it.

well thnx for your input guys...

No matter where your buying the car from you need to drive it first. So you can buy it off of ebay just make sure that its up to your standards I flew 1,300 miles to pick up my Z. Its worth the $150.00 plane ticket and if you have enough to purchase a Z you should be fine.
