Default Defect Free Z!!

OK! Since all I hear are Z's with some kind of defect in some form or another, letz hear from the ones who arent having any such problems!!

Anybody out there or all Z's are defective.

If mine has any defect it has yet to surface. I may have some "orange peel" (not sure if I know what orange peel is) but, if so, it certainly does not detract from the appearance.

Yes, while we're on the topic...what is orange peel? My car has no problems other than a slight rear rattle but I don't know what orange peel is.

here's my .02
Orange peel refers to a surface irregularity where reflected light gives the dimpled appearance of an orange peel.

My paint job is pretty good. I have seen all sorts of very expensive cars--BMW, MB, Volvo, etc with really noticeable orange peeling. Probably some cars from every manufacturer have this with some of their cars.

My Z reflects images quite accurately but if you get real close to the surface (6-12 inches) the paint looks a little "bumpy".

From what I've read, orange peel is most likely on vertical surfaces.....such a doors....which is where I see "bumps" on real close inspection. If its a problem 99.9 % of people ain't gonna notice it.

Performance. Right at 2,000 miles. No probs other than slight grease on windows if you look real close. Also, when it rains the car gets dirty and I have to clean it .

At 1150 miles (getting close to 1200!!), I have had no problems. Maybe were just a few of the lucky ones. I have gradually been getting up to 5000, 5500, and 6000 RPM (once) and the engine really seems to be revving more freely and smoothly, anyone else notice this?

5000 miles and I haven't a gripe. Paint is solid and downright pretty. Checked the front tires today while washing the car and I don't feel any uneven wear. Interior is free of defects and the grease on the windows is minimal (I doubt anyone has reported none).

I put 800 miles on it in 2 days this week and fuel usage ran around 25 mpg. I let it out once to pass on a two lane road and the guy in a 3000 GT that was behind me came alongside at the next town and nodded. Took him a little longer to get around the car.

8,200 miles, Vin # 238 (or close to it). No problems. I have noticed the clutch chatter when the car is idiling in nuetral, but I think this is normal.

Thumbs up

600 miles, VIN 12XXX, no problems whatsoever. Looks and runs fantastic. Feel like I'm in a $60,000 car, paid $27,800 incl. aero kit.
