good kill! and yet all the magazine racers claim it will out run the Z

Z4 then just stay with the Z if your not going to get the 335

BTW - get the BMW - great car from experience

hmmm....you say the Z handles better...why do you say that...I have driven a 323(2000) with the sports package and a 530i(2006) with the sports package and they both handle better than my Z

Put a TT kit on the Z and you have well over 400 hp. BMW is a fool for designing a car to its bare minimum potential. I cant see anyone justifying a 45k dollar car with 300 HP when you could make a 30k dollar car that is just as nice (like the z) just as fast for less money and less worry.

fast good looking car.... but i can't afford the repair bills after warranty runs out. i'm talking about thousands of dollars....friend of mine owns nothing but Bimmers, all the german mechanics in town love him to death.

I love that car, and alot of times, I really wished I bought G35 instead of the Z for a more classy look + extra luggage space (backseat). Maybe it's because I live in S. Cal, but everytime I see an Asian male driving that with mods, I can't help but think -- must be some kid w/ no job and mom wouldn't pay for 2 seater so they got a G instead.
True, but the G35 and 330i (same with the next gen cars...335i, 08coupe-07sedan) are direct competitors.

But about the asian part... I love in socal too. L.A is virtually a g35 city... but I definately dont see many asians in it. Maybe you live around Korea or China town I presume?

I've only visited L.A. a few times, but all I saw were bimmers. Maybe now there are tons more g35 since the last time I was there in '04.

More like too many.

I just dont feel unique anymore

But then again, its L.A.

You see all sorts of cars here.

I wish there were less Z's and G's here...

Let me explain something to you, I have test pipes, and an exhaust. My Z is also lighter than a 335, plus i'm a better drive than he was. But I lost only one of the races, and that was from 60mph in 3rd gear. He obviously had more torque at low rpm.

Magazines can suck my left nutt when it comes to comparisons. Guys on this forum hit better times than magazine editors.

That's what you get for buying a roadster.

Then again you could put that money toward suspension, brakes and a TT VQ35HR setup if/when it's available.

2. 335i. 320hp out the box. Shouldn't be hard to get 380hp. Doubtful you'll be able to get very far past that without significant (read: expensive) work. A ton of added luxury. 2 extra seats.

if you want to spend more than $50k, I wouldn't waste my time on these cars with the GT-R coming so soon. I'm willing to bet it will dominate both cars above, if not the M3, RS4 as well...especially in tuned form.

First of the 335 has 300hp not 320.. My friend just bought one and spent 45k and gets beat by my 06 350 bone stock... We even swap cars and the Z still pulls... I can use that extra 15k he spent and get the Z to do wheelies... Now that it looks nice, it sure does... That car would look nice on some sweet wheels

If I were going to spend money on the Z4m coupe I would spend a little extra $'s for the Caymen S, much more sexier than the hideous Z4 coupe

The roadster is about 500 lbs heavier than my Z.

I seem to remember my thought the one time I tested a G35: "Wow, this car feels slower and a lot heavier than my Z." And that was prior to all my weight reduction mods.

So for the people that are saying, "man, if you twin turbo a 350Z's 3.5liter motor, it will make more power than the BMW's 3.5TT," they need to take a seat and realize a few things---> BMW can easily make that 3.5 TT motor push out 400+hp, but...then where would the M3 market be??? Alos, the 3.5TT motor is very stout and capable of acheiving incredible HP numbers...yet, you got to keep in mind, BMW's are very fine-tuned cars (stock)...which means, no tolerance for mistakes...this aint no Supra! Once finely modified and tuned, it should be a solid contender with the supercars! Take my advise, drop the Z, and get a "real" fast...luxurious...affordable sports coupe---->BMW 335i!

Everyone has there facts wrong here... The 335 is a 3.0 not a 3.5

Wierd, since the 0-60 for the 335i is 5.3 seconds. I can understand if you said you guys stayed neck and neck, but I can't imagine the Z "pulling" on the 335i when the Z was stock and when the 335i dynos out there shows very little drivetrain loss. No confrontation intended, just wierd to hear this outcome.

335 Coupe actually does 0-60 in 4.8 second from Car & Driver test and they have understated the hp. It is putting 270+hp on the rear wheels from the dyno runs done on stock engine.
