Default Fastest 350z

what model year have the fastest 350z. I know that 06 have 300hp, but weights a lot more then the 03 model?

Is the 03 and 04 pretty much the same, with weight and engine components?

theyre all pretty much the same minus weight....some weigh more than others

in terms of performance.....a non rev up motor could take a rev up off the line...from a the rev up should be able to take a non revup

theres not that much difference in performance between the models..its all what options you want

I got this from c&d issue about the z. Any truth to this?

"The 3.5-liter VQ V-6 has always had so much grunt that drivers of manual versions often burn the clutches by overslipping them when pulling away."

Can you burn a clutch quicker by doing this. It seems I overrev sometimes when starting from a red light.

I've never heard that statement before. I think they just needed to fill the column with text and made that up.

the Revup models in stock form are actually pretty equivalent to the 287 motor simply due to the lost torque.

IIRC the 03s had the fastest models because they were the lightest.

Default hmm

i know for 06's the base is the lightest...has the shortest 60-0 braking of all the models by a few feet actually *surprising since it doesnt have brembos, but the brembos dont fade like my rotors*...as far as speed...theyre pretty much all the same...sept automatic versions are slower than MT models...point is...even if u have the quickest stock 350..there are still tons of heavily modified Z's that will kick your *** :P lol

03 base. Lightest and fastest. 05 Track weighs more because of the brembos.

The Brembo discs are a bit heavier but the calipers are aluminum.

03-05 Track rims are 8 lbs lighter (18 lbs per wheel vs. ~26 lbs).
