Default Owning a Z can be both a curse and a blessing

I absolutely love everything about the car. From the sophisticated yet sexy look to the way it handles and drives, but it can also be somewhat of a burden. I'm always constantly worried about the car being either scratched, dented, scuffed or some other cosmetic damage. I visually inspect my car bumper to bumper at least 10 times a day, especially after I park my car in a public place. I'm also inclined to park my car at the furthest location at a parking lot for the fear of someone putting a ding on my doors. I'm constantly cleaning my car all the time of debris, dirt, smudges and lint from the exterior as well as the interior of my vehicle. It's starting to become a ritual for me, seriously.

Am I the only one here that's this paranoid?

As a new owner? No. I was the same until I got the first scratch or until my paint on the bumper started to chip.

It's all stuff I plan on getting buffed out or repainted and I'm still pretty picky about where I park but I don't lose sleep over it.

i know how you feel , im the same exact way, everytime before i get in my car i do my routine walkaround, if you have rock chips try going to the dealership and getting the touch up paint, whenever i dont feel like worrying i just take my camry but yes when im driving my z i cant even relax, always worrying about something happening to my car or some idiot crashing in to me.

I am like that too. I bought me Z about 6 weeks ago, and I live in the city. That means I park in an open-air lot next to my apartment building. Not only do I worry about dings and scratches, I am very concerned about vandalism and getting broken into, or having my wheels stolen. The Z also gets dirt very quickly in a city environment. And living in an apartment means that I have to pay someone to wash and detail my car everytime.

But I have pretty much come to terms with it. Because you can always throw money at a problem if it bothers you enough. I can pay more to park in a in-door garage, pay to have my car washed frequently, and repaint the fcking thing if there are too many scratches for me to stand it. That's all

It's the price you pay for having a beautiful car

well, i do know one thing, for all the guys parking WAY out in the parking lot, though it MAY protect your car from dings and scratches, you guys are also the easiest cars to "break into". you leaving your car way out in that parking lot, where nobody would want to park, leaves your car all alone. even if you do have an alarm, whos going try to stop the thief if they can barely hear the siren or maybe not even see your car. I'm not hating, but just trying to inform you guys because i have seen it happen.

I KNOW EXACTLY HOW YOU FEEL!! hahah ... that's why i garage my car M-Th and drive it F-Sun only. And when I do drive it... I park pretty far from other cars

it's sad... the value of the car is decreasing but I don't really drive it often. Oh well... when I do drive it... it's worth it.

ugh, whatever, god forbid if you ever buy a really really nice car. you might not ever drive it. get it over it. its a fairly low cost sports car, not an exotic. most things that happen to your car are gonna be out of your control anyways like rock chips and door dings. yes i love my Z but im not gonna stress or think of it as a burden, thats lame. I think would sell my car at that point.

This is the 4th Z I have owned and I have never been as paranoid about any of those other cars as this one. Probably because of the much larger investment.

I didn't buy a fun car to get stressed out over it.. yes if it get's damaged I'll be a little pissed, but it's all easily replacable. Chill and enjoy the ride.

i'm the same way. i always try to park away from the masses. but you know what, it still doesn't help. i've gotten two door dings in the past month. sure, i get pissed about it, mostly because there are retards out there that just don't respect other people's property. but i've began to come to terms with it. either that or i go buy a beater, but what's the fun in driving a beater?

Damn I just found 2 little scratches near the lower part of the wheel well. I guessed the tires kicked something up out. I only have 700 miles on it.

Yea because they can afford to go buy a new one if it gets scratched.

However most people who own Z's are in the working class who can't on a whim go buy a new car.

So it makes sense to care and take pride in something you work for. I do I'll be damned if I spent 28k on a car which I was only able to afford because of iraq and then let it go to ****.

Most people I know who could care less about there cars could also care less about dropping 1g on a pair of nice fur boots
