Default Traction Control or Not?

Hi. Just wanted to see what the majority of Z Owners prefer when it comes to TC. Sad to say, after owning my ZR for 4 months I just discovered the TC button and have opened up a whole new world. There go the rear tires.

For daily driving, TCS is ON. I hardly notice it.

I leave mine on 98% of the time I'm driving. Sure, why not.

I'm liking the way you guys think. It's like I have a new car all over again.

With my tire width and lowering I have to turn it off cuz the slightest turn of the wheel will kick in the slide. It can be dangerous if u got someone on ur butt. The car shutting down in 70MPH traffic is NOT cool
But Im a little Old School and prefer to tell the car what to do rather than it telling me what to do.
The Z Anti-Locs are almost un noticable thou. Nice Brake feel !!

I leave mine on most of the time. I usually only turn it off when I want to play a little. It is a good safety feature because you never know when it will help you out of a bad situation.

I have a buddy who turns his off every time he gets in the car. So there certainly are different opinions on it.

I leave my TCS on about 90% of the time since you never know when you're going to need it. It may save your life. Last weekend, I completed a performance driving course and during the 1st hour in the track, it was raining. We did the slalom and hard braking in the rain. I was very apprehensive during my 1st turn since I didn't know how my Z was going to handle the course in the rain. With the TCS and 4-wheel ABS (with stock rims & tires), my Z stayed on course the entire time. Never slid nor hydroplaned. I now have complete confidence that the Z was engineered to handle extreme conditions, to include being pushed hard on the track. It really made me appreciate my Z a lot more.

Drivers who have never lost control of a RWD car with their foot down will tell you TCS it is a bunch o crap and that they always turn it off. Those of us who have gone sideways more than once with their foot down will tell you to leave it on for routine daily driving. You can turn it off if you want to mess around and have fun, but you need to know how to recover from a power on slide.

I always turn it off when I am playing, of course. But for normal driving it stays on, especially in the rain. TCS can respond before you even know whats happening in unexpected events.

I always drive with it off and I have had numerous times where my back end has slid out from behind me. Now if its raining or something then I leave it on.

Like someone else said as long as you know what you're doing and know how to recover and don't freak out you'll be fine.

I get my Z sideways a lot coming out of my place just because its a rush and I know I can control it

Not sure if that was in reference to me but in the short 4 and some change years I've been driving I've yet to get a ticket or have an at fault accident(knock on wood)

Actully I have seen more retarted middle aged ladies that can't seem to learn how to a Z

Its annoying to hear how everyone think their insurance rates are always highter because of someone else could possibly be them or a combination of factors. Actually my rates aren't but 20 more for my Z vs my tib

Ya know why insurance rates on houses and cars are so high in tx. Because we have way to many natural disasters occur every year. Not because of irresponsible young drivers and young homeowners.

Combat, not intended for you personally. I figure that maybe 1% of the guys on here really know what they are doing with drifting; happy to include you in the 1%.

But the other 99% wanna-bes turn off vdc/tcs & its only a matter of time before "crash".

Plus I don't get it on drifting; why? But I rode bikes for 30 some years where keeping the rubber connected to the pavement was a must.
