Default Help! Car won't start right, 9k miles, No mods

Does anyone know why all of a sudden my car won't start this morning?
It's like this, at the first crank it simply won't start up, I held on to the start position for about 7 seconds, then the 2nd try will take much longer than normal to start, when it did the engine sounds reluctant (for lack of better words), so I turn it off and restarts after about 20 seconds and the same thing again. First try it won't start. When it eventually starts up on the 2nd try, I try back out of the drive way and notice my power steering is gone, but the engine is still alive, then I saw the service engine light on!
I haven't drove the car for 2 days since it's not a daily driver and I have no mods anywhere except wheels, I used Mobile 1 synthethics on my last 2 oil change.

It could be, but I also think it could be the fuel pump since it cranks but just won't start, but the lost of power steering is really throwing me off......??

Yeah, I even bought the extended warrenty package. Just kinda sad that this is the first car I have to take in for warrenty repair before 10k miles.
I hope it has nothing to do with the oil burning problems that some people are having.

Take the car to autozone or someplace equivalent and have them scan the code for free.

They do that for free! That's nice to know. But the car is undrivable due to no power steering, so I'm gonna have to tow it in to the dealer tommorow.

No, it actually cranks up after few trys, each time it would take about 5-7 seconds to start up, but it's not clicking tho.

what did you do Richard!

It sounds like you have some aftermarket pulleys?

Slow starting like "whir whir whir" is usually a low battery. but power steering would be something else...

I've had my 350 since new, did the exact same thing on day 3 of ownership & still does, will be fixed with everything else shortly. Yes it is a warranty thing. Take it in and keep us posted.

Richard?? hehe...it's Joe
hmm....anyway, I don't have a aftermarket pulley, no mods what-so-ever in the engine compartment, I just have a after market stereo HU and wheels.
I forgot to check the battery meter before leaving for work, but I will check both the battery and the dip stick before getting it hauled away to the dealer. Will keep you guys updated.

but I never did anything to the intake from what most ppl where saying about pop chargers etc, it's usually how the MAF got fouled is through upgrades like CAI or pop chargers.

Sounds like "warranty" time! Use it, that's what it's for. As for what it could be, I guessing a belt is gone.

I also made mention the oil consumption problem, the dipstick shows low on oil and they are going to put me through the same test that everyone else is having done, coming back after 1k miles. And while I was there I mentioned the problem with gas tank only fills half full, they're going to order parts for it. I also mentioned the other famous Z problem with the rear axle clicking, they're going to lubricate that part.

I should have more answers by tommorow.

Ok,
This was the second call I've gotten from the dealer today saying there was nothing wrong with my power steering, this is really frustrating! The dealer says, oh you've got wider wheels at the front (245/35/19), so this may cause you to feel "tighter steering" at turns. Have any of you ever drove a 70's and 80's car with no power steering? Well that's what my car feel like now!and they say it's because of my wheels It sure wasn't as a "tight steering" last week as it was today and I have had after market wheels for 4 months.
Are there anybody here that knows about this kind of things? The crank position sensor will get replaced tommorow and I hope this is related to it, so that it will be fixed after the new sensor is put on.

Take them copies of these:

Fuel tank difficult to fill TSB

Rear Axle clicking TSB

These TSB's are for the 2003-2005 but should serve as an appropriate reference for you and your tech. I had the fuel tank issue repair done about a month ago. It took them two days and the day I got it back I went to fill it up. The pump shut off after 8 gallons (I was on "E"). So, I was kind of ticked. But since that first fill up, it has been fine.
