Default No TPS in my '04 Touring Z, WTF?

bought the '04 Touring Z about 6-7 weeks ago. Bought 4 TPS sensors to put in new aftermarket wheels, and was surprised that the TPS warning didn't go apecrap. Took the Z to the dealership today to see about resetting/programming the sensor. The dealship told me my Z had no TPS at all... I thought TPS is standard on Touring models, wtf?

My 2004.5 Touring has it. I, too, thought it was standard. I just checked the Owner's Manual and the description in the Trip Computer section is titled, "Tire pressure indicator (PSI) (if so equipped)." Of course, the manual probably covers all trim levels.

Yep, my 2004 ZR has no sensors either... I told the tire shop to take them out of my stock wheels and put them on my aftermarket ones and there like "What Sensors"...

Do you have an Automatic trans? If so, your Z came stock with 17" wheels so you don't get TPMS.

Yes sir, I have an AT... Wish I posted a thread like this before I coughed up the $120 for the 4 sensors... Oh well, live and learn.

Ah, you live and learn. Look at the bright side, you can always resell them here and probably recoup your $$$.

The sad thing is that there's probably nothing in your owners manual or even the service manual that explains this. I got it from the sales brochure than Nissan gave out. It has a list of all the features along with which ones are available on which trim levels and options.

My '04 Touring Roadster with 6MT does not have it. Makes no difference to me, a simple tire gauge works just as well.

TPS is over-rated, particularly if you plan on going with aftermarket wheels.
