why not just always bum a ride? then you wont have to have a roof rack. nice name by the way.

haha you as well my friend... i dont see what the big deal is? its a car, i have no real need for a second car at the moment other than snowboarding so a roof rack would fix everything....

as far as bumming a ride... i have yet to meet another person in the jacksonville area that rides or is up for the couple hour drive to do it and i absolutely hate counting on anyone so i will just find a solution with my car.

have you tried just fitting the board inside? I can fit my 160 board inside, as well as 178 parabolics. Cover the plactics first!

Wow... I dunno about my Z in the snow. Stock tires wouldn't be good for that and I ain't gonna put chains on my wheels (prolly mess up the rims).

Snow tires? ...do you got snow tires on your Z?

Cuz... if you do, post some pics?! (I wouldn't think there was something like that.)

Hi guys !
Just joined the forum ! got my Z about 2 weeks ago..
quite interesting discussion, as well as some funny comments

well, I live close to the alps, and often have quite cold winters ! and well here, if you don't have winter tires (there's no "snow" tires ; unless you mean for ice) and have an accident, insurance might not pay you back if you damage your Z !

and well, about snowboard, I'm more into ski.. has anyone tried to put ski's in the back of the Z ? or only possible with a rack ?

bye.

I don't know why Z owners get so angry when someone wants a bike rack or something for their car. I drove my car to telluride CO 3 times last year and so Sunrise, AZ 5+ times all for snowboarding.

My 149 jib board and 156 free ride both fit in my car but they kind of take up a lot of room. I Also have the window rack like someone posted. It creates road noise but it's held up to 110mph on my way to Telluride and gets a lot of attention, lol. Just be sure to lock the window because a quick lapse in judgement by the passenger could suck it right off the car.
Here's a pic of it on my car in AZ at Sunrise.

And some tire chains *these will F up your stockies, so if you care for them don't use 'em*

I bought a 4runner this summer so I'll be driving that this season but I know sometimes you just don't have a choice.

thanks for the pics !

I know it's quite strange that some owners of Z get like that !

but.. her in switzerland, you see all kinds of car with ski racks.. no problem !

anyway, I was thinking, has anybody seen those racks that magnet to the roof to transport ski's or snowboards??

I guess it's not soo good for the painting but.. very useful..

exactly what i was looking for man.... thanks for the heads up, yes i have winter tires, i have Nokian haakapaletas (sp) from when i was back in alaska and i bought a set of blizzaks off a buddy right before i left so the tire situation is covered and if you say the window rack works then thats good enough for me.... appreciate it man
