Default Is there a bike rack for 350Z besides the Hunch Rack?

I own a mtn bike & road bike & when I bought my Z, I assumed I would be able to get a Thule or Yakima roof rack to transport them. Unfortunately, it appears that neither company offers a solution for the 350Z. Obviously, getting a 2nd car for more practical uses would be the ideal solution, but that's not an option in my case.

I did a search on this site & it seems that no one has found a dedicated rack for transporting bikes in the Z other than the Hunch Rack, which has to be modified to fit the Z. This is quite disappointing, since both the Boxster & S2000 have a bike carrier that attaches to the rear by the license plate.

Has anyone gotten the Hunch Rack? If so, are you satisfied? Has it caused any damage to your 350Z?

Thanx.

Default Hitch?

What about having a trailer hitch installed? It might look a bit funny having bikes on a hitch mount on the back of a Z, but it should get the job done.

Bikes and the Z = No? Why?
This is an excellent question and I'd like to hear our options.
I can't always rely on one of my SUV buddies to be available for riding, and the Z is my only car.

I've called Bird Automotive to see if they are going to make a bike rack for the 350Z, they said they might if they get more calls for one.

Call them and let them know. Call toll-free (888) 224-8409.

http://www.birdautomotive.com/BikeRack.htm

The Bird Automotive Bicycle Rack System enables drivers short and tall to load and unload 1-3 bicycles very quickly. Bicycles don't touch the car.

Thanks for the info! I just spoke to Sam Bird & he said that the 350Z rack is on the backburner for now & that it probably won't be available until sometime this fall.

If anyone else is interested, give him a call at (888) 224-8409 so Sam can see that there is a demand for this product.

Well I shot Sam Bird an email:

Thanks for inquiring. We are in development of this product and will let you know when it becomes available. Meantime you can learn how it will work and pricing from our web site for the Porsche Boxster Rack: http://www.birdautomotive.com/Bike%2...20Boxster.htm.

This is a great read and demonstates how a web site can be really helpful in helping solve a problem. Nice going, folks.

By the way, I e-mailed the company as well. I figured another inquiry could not hurt.
