Default How much do you spend on gas a week?

Hi,

I'm looking forward to buying a 350z and just want to know more or less how much money you guys spend a week and what KIND you put... I'm assuming it must be premium.

Here in South Florida, the gas prices are just way too high, so I just want to have an idea.

Thanks for your help.

I put about $25-$30 worth of gas in a week. I use 93 or 94 octane most of the time, although I will put in some 100 octane unleaded from time to time (they carry it at the Sunoco down the street). I usually put between 300 and 350 miles on the Z between fill-ups which ends up being around 15 gallons. Going by my mileage gauge I usually get around 21 mpg in mostly city driving, and about 28 on the highway. If you like to put your foot in it a lot expect 20 or less.

Kevin, it's actually about $2.35 USD per gallon in BC (91 octane). You forgot to factor the currency conversion into your calculation. You are putting some serious time in your driver's seat.

No actually, I did not forget to factor in the currency exchange because in Canada we get paid in Canadian dollars not American

It costs me $4.08 cents a gallon for my gasoline. I am not visiting Canada spending American money and Canadians do not earn money on an American payscale.

It is of course an automatic reaction to convert prices into American in an attempt to relate the cost we pay to the cost you pay but it is not that simple. If you can up and visited Canada yes, you would be paying $2.68 per gallon but really that is not what I pay.

Canadians do not suddenly earn more simply to balance out to the relative relationships between our economies.

We do earn a little more on average in Canada than is earned in the USA but we also pay twice the tax and have far fewer deductions.

All I am saying is that it is not as simple as converting to American and calling it a day.

Regards,
Kevin

That's true. The original question is problematic, because there are significant differences in gas prices between cities, states, and countries. "How much?" in dollars should really be "How much?" in gallons (Canadians could convert from liters). That would provide a universal measuring stick, without worrying about currencies and state tariffs.
