Default Selling my car - how much should I ask...

I have 04 SS Enthusiast MT with 17,xxx miles and:
- side airbags,
- 19" Rays G-games wheels + BFG tires
- Nismo intake, exhaust (all dealer installed)
- 20% tint
- OEM spoiler
- Nismo plate bracket and floormats
- aluminium kick plate

The car was purchased new on 03/17/2005. I really took care of her - washed and waxed at least once a week. Garage kept.

How much is a fair trade-in value for this car?

--------
I aditionally have 17" wheels + Blizzak ws-50 tires and JL system (450/4 amp, 10w6, zr components) + Alpine 9855HU + Z enclosure. If I trade her in I want to keep the system.

What would be a good asking price for the whole set - private party?

-------
I am going to the dealership tomorrow to see what kind of deal will they offer for a 06 EVO. I would like to know what is the realistic value of my car.

Thanks

try www.kbb.com
that will give you a rough estimate and then you can go from there. I would definately sell it privately, dealers dont give you much. Usually all you mods dont add much to the cars value.

KBB for private party value with your custom wheels is $23,175. I would ask 24.5K....

Also keep in mind that people wont give you what you paid for all your parts. You take a big loss on those if you include it with the car. I would think about parting the rims & exhaust out. And then asking 23.5K for the car without the nismo exhaust and your rims. You would make out best that way

+1

sometimes the mods will actually bring down the value. i'd just say to part it out if you really want the most money.

My car MSRP was 30k + 2,5k for Nismo parts and spoiler + 2.7k for wheels....

The Nismo parts were dealer installed - so full waranty. I guess that should add value.

look up private party on kbb and then figure out a cost for the parts. sucks, but it's usually how it goes.

The KBB for private party is $22,775 => just a car

How much to add for Nismo intake, exhasust, OEM spoiler and rays wheels?

$1,500 i would say because like everyone says you hardly get anything out of the extra stuff you put into it. Only way ull get close to the money you put into it is if you sell it to someone that knows wat everythngs worth like a 350z enthusiast. Not what you told them but what they have seen while doing their own research.

Typically the rule is you'll get 50% of orig. value on aftermarket parts at most (if done well).

Since we're talking about trade-in value, not private party value...

The dealer doesn't add anything for aftermarket parts. A stock Z and one with $50K in mods are both worth the same to a dealer.

To get an idea of your trade-in value, look up the KBB trade-in value for your zip code in "fair" condition. "Fair" condition is usually all the dealer will give you. Yea, it sucks, but that's the way it goes. This is why I always try to sell private.

EDIT: using a Chicago zip code, I get a trade-in value of $17,575. You might be able to get $18K for it trading it in.

im selling my z too, trust me the dealers wont give you anything for all that stuff you have on your car. Im selling my 2003 touring for $21,000, and it has 23,000 miles on it. The dealer was only giving me about 18,000 even though they had a car similar to mine on the lot, sames miles on it, and they were selling that one for $27,000. It better to just sell it to a private party. you'll get more out of it. If you have an extended warranty, you can take it back to the dealer and cancel it and get a prorated amount back. basically most of it if you havent used it that much.

I just got from the dealership. They were giving me 23500 for my car with everything on (wheels, system, and all other parts) . I said I want 25k and a car at invoice and we made no deal.
The other dealaership is giving me 22k for my car with Nismo parts (I can keep my wheels and system) and EVO at invoice.

I will try to sell my wheels and remove the system. This way I can save some money.

I dont know what is the deal with EVOs but somehow they really want to sell them - they sell them at invoice with no problem.
I found this dealership (on evolutionm) they sell cars 2k under invoice! YOu only pay $500 to have it shipped.

Now I am calculating 23500 + tax saving... extra 1,500 if I trade her in.
