Default What happens after your Z gets vandalized?

As most of you know race4it was one of the victims of getting his 350 vandalized... If you don't know, some kid happend to have splashed oil-based paint practically all over his car in a hot sunny day. Now before I ask, I have to say this, that a new kind of terrorist is born in the U.S known as "IDIOTS".
Ok so my question was what happens after? what if you can't find the suspect that vandalizes your car? Does the insurance cover the repairs? Or does all the money that needs repair come out of your pocket?

It depends upon the policy and the insurance company.

In most cases it would be covered under comprehensive insurance.

Defenition of comprehensive insurance: "Comprehensive is very similar to collision insurance, the main difference being that comprehensive covers damage caused to your vehicle caused by any unknown party or "act of God"... vandalism, flood, hurricane, theft, and fire are all events usually covered by comprehensive automobile insurance. (But make sure to read your comprehensive insurance policy for exact coverage details.)"

If you have insurance that covers it then you turn it over to them and pay the deductable. Then if the SCUMBAG is caught and convicted the insurence goes after them and the a**hole is made to pay back your deductable

If it is covered under your ins policy you will just have a ded, which in some states will limit it to a few hundred for no fault claims, (i.e., vandalism, hit n run)

Usually, the first thing to occur is you cuss a lot and say thing about doing things to people that make you wonder if you have a hidden serial killer lurking somewhere deep within your soul. The next step is you call up your insurance agent.

If you find them? Some rational people call the police.......a small handful see just how far that serial killer instinct can take them.

You comprehensive insurance should cover it after you meet your deductible.

Yes -- you pretty much end up paying out of your own pocket. Usually if it's major, you end up paying your deductible on your comprehensive insurance (usually $500). If the damage is minor, some people just get it fixed themselves w/o going through their insurance carrier.
