My New Z was vandalized, Help please!
Let me say hello first off and say thank you in advance for any helpful advice, ideas or information.
I have a 2006 350Z Base model that I got this past may when I graduated from the University of Maryland. The car has just reached 8k miles and already some POS individual has vandalized it.
While parked in the Wawa parking lot off of Rt. 1 in College Park, MD a drunk vandal decided it would be funny to walk up the hood, over the roof, and down the trunk of my brand new Z!!
The roof has a huge dent in it which caused slight buckling in other areas of the roof and the hood has a small dent in it as well.
I have a 3rd party (Neutral) wittness who is a local tow truck driver who wittnessed the entire vandalization.
In speaking to the father of this punk kid/vandal the father has mentioned that his son denies vandalizing my car (hard to remember when you are drunk) and that his "friends" are going to back up his B.S. story.
My question here is...what should I do?
Will my neutral, 3rd party wittness who says he never took his eyes off the vandal untill the moment the police arrived, be a stronger source of evidence over some punk kids buddies?
Also, anybody know of any descent body shops that would be able to take care of my car at a decent price?
The dent on the hood looks minor to me while the dent on the roof is rather large. Although being a large dent is it possible to pop out the dent on the roof? I ask because there are no visible creases in the paint...so perhaps paintless dent repair is possible?
Thanks for reading this long post! I feel so violated at the hands of some ignorant kid!
What is wrong with people?... I make sure not to drive fast or pump my music loud...I don't try to attract attention in my Z...yet some jealous POS kid still ruined my brand new car.
Now excuse me while I go
this is too depressing
Thanks again for any help!

You are SO lucky to have a witness. The kids witnesses are not neutral and therefore will not be as credible as yours. If your witness can identify the kid and is credible, you won't have any problems.
After this mess, make sure to buy your Z something real nice.

people generally don't respect other people's property period. Rule of Thumb: Never drive a Z onto a college campus.
Popping out that dent is no big deal, im pretty sure any bodyshop can do it and it may cost u no more than $75. If that doesn't work, you can always get it covered with the carbon fiber piece sold at Intense which makes your car look even cooler.

man i am so sorry to hear about this..it makes me sick just reading it. I cannot even imagine how you are feeling right now...The witness should be able to tell the police he witnessed the whole thing and that is was "that" kid you know..I hope it all works out for you and if all else fails I've got an 1 5/16 wrench here and it can do some serious damage to the hood of his face

Your neutral witness has nothing to gain so he is more valuable then someone who brings their friends in.
I would sue him and his dumb *** father for complete replacement and repair, plus court costs and compensate you for your loss of time etc..
I would take him for the ride of his life.
The judge will see through the bullsht and you will be victorious.

Call the popo and give them the contact information of your witness. Let them handle it, its their job to protect and serve. Don't make anymore attempts to contact the vandal or his family. Then call a lawyer.

Get the police and insurance involved.
Wait and pray.
Sorry to hear about your ride bro. When my car is dirty is makes my stomach turn. When I got T-boned in Dec I amost had a heart attack, ulcer, and stroke. Take your time, be patient. There is always the midnight ambush with ski masks! LOL Just kidding. Be the bigger person, get a lawyer, eat beans for a week or so, then sue for the lawyer fees then buy yourself a plenum spacer and intake.
This wawa does not have a gas station. Although the shopping center the wawa is in has cameras all oiver it. The screwed up thing is that the police officer mentioned that there is no guarantee that the cameras were pointed in the direction of my car...
If I get my insurance involved won't they just jack my rates up?

Hehe.. First off, I'm sorry to hear about your Z.. I hope to never find someone doing something like this.. My temper is a little off the edge and I might have to make someone "bite the curb"... Make that Man, Woman, Or Kid of any age
i'm currently going to university of maryland for grad school. after hearing this, i will never even think of taking my Z down there, or anywhere near the campus. I used to hang out at prince cafe and other places around there, but no more. I hate drunk ***** or people in general that can't respect people's property.
My advice is ask those stores if they have surveilance footage. Im VERY familiar with Colloege Park. lol At one point that parking lot had quite a few cameras b/c stuff like this happened a little too often. Drunk college kids.
Hope that helps bro. That SUCKS. You have no idea how pissed Id be.

Def call the cops and your ins co. The cops will be able to get all the info from your witness. Once they get involved along w/your ins co things should move in your favor. Had to do the same thing w/a hit and run 2 weeks ago. Luckily I had a witness as well - Good luck
