At this point, I cannot believe that any car does not come with cruise control. At least get an enthusiast or performance. Work 'em down on the 04 touring.

I can't believe that a manufacturer (Dodge), made a car (Neon) with an actual THREE speed automatic in the year of 1996. My wife and I had a bit of bad luck about three years ago (just finally got back where we want to be), and we were driving this car up until about three-four months ago. I thought three speeds went out of production around the end of the 80's.

As far as the cruise, well, I do miss it as far as a road trip goes; though I don't drive long enough distances regularly to really miss it on a daily basis. That is what really convinced me to buy the Base. I figured I'd replace the LSD on the Enthusiast anyway and I'd eventually replace the aluminum pedals. I would only use the traction control when it was actually necessary. The steering mounted radio controls might come in handy, but I'd just as soon not have all that clutter on the wheel. So, why pay for something that would get replaced or that would bug me?

OP, if you don't mod the car at all and/or you just really need cruise, then get the Enthusiast for certain. If you are going to mod the car and don't care or need cruise, then saving money on the Base isn't a bad idea.

Depends on what you want out of the car. Price wise the 06 is comparitive because very close in price, but personally I'd go with the Touring for the extra specs that brings you. Whatever, hit the salesman hard for a good deal.

I've driven 14 350's now from year 2004 - 2006, and the difference in power between an 04 & 06 is barely noticeable. If anything I think the 04 is more responsive, harder suspension etc, better for really driving hard in my personal opinion.

Good luck with your decision, and keep us posted.

alright guys......the point is moot..

the salesman just called me back with the requested carfax......

this Z was involved in a front end collision.........no frame damage, but quarter panel, bumper both replaced.......he said the CF said 15K in damage, but nothing structural....

no thanks

i paid 22 for my 04 Z but mine came with the full nismo kit, body exhaust and intake.. so i got a steal and i had 22k miles, on the other hand, even a stock redline 04 is the better deal for 22 simply because it's not as heavy in weight and the value as you can see doesnt depreciate much, the 06 is a better choice if you care alota bout the warranty and whatever other non sense people who buy brand spankin new cars care about but if it's a Z it's in good shape used or not, id go with the 04 if you can get it for 22 or below. ALSO, test drive car arent the best to buy... low milage yes.. but you shouldnt drive New cars hard until about 1k miles, everyone who went to test drive the Z i gaurantee took it full throttle to test out what it felt like.. so the engine is going to be more worn, of course unless the owner of that 04 did the same thing ;p
