I shopped online

1) Searched Nissan dealers in NC, and VA

2) Only searched dealers that had a searcheable inventory feature on their website

3) Only searched dealers that published invoice prices.

4) Emailed 2 that had the specific car I wanted. The first one to reply offered it at invoice, and I countered at invoice minus about $400. They accepted but added a $299 doc fee, so I actually got it just about $100 below invoice ($27,700, plus TTL) And they delivered it (200 miles)

As I said above, I haven't visited a dealership in years, except to pay for and pick up a car. I find internet searches, and email/phone transaction simple, generally hassle-free, and feel like I get good prices . I'm not obsessed about getting the best price, so just as soon as someone offers what I feel is an honest, fair price, I buy.

Such "how much did you pay" questions make me shake my head in disbelief. Do you have any idea of the price variation due to options? How on earth can you draw any comparison with any '06 owner when you have no clue how their Z was optioned out of the factory OR sharing what options those two "quoted" Zs have?

Thats not what I asked in my original post. I wanted to know if their dealer did better than the dealer I was looking into. I dont care about options, because I will take one without any options at all. I just care about the bottom line, and thats price. If someone got one with more options and a lower price... I wouldnt care so long as the lower price can apply to me. In which case, I will call that dealer and ask if they are willing to match the price they gave to "xxx", and options matter little to me.

You got a pretty good price. I'd take it. I got offered Invoice +400 which I think came to $27,100. Total out the door was $29,100.\

Most dealerships aren't making any kinds of deals on these right now.

Check out what I found. I dont think its an enthusiast, but at that price, I'll take a base, since its in the right color. Just have to get it tranferred to Houston, I wonder if I'll have to give pay a holding fee.

LOL. Everyone bought their 350Z for less than invoice. I have never seen a contract scanned and posted. Never.

Fugg.. I just realized that last one was an Auto. Found one on ebay though. Whoever said the dealers arent making deals on Z's right now is right. Ive contacted probably 8 of them, which is no small miracle where im at, and none of them want to work with me.
I dont see 27500 for a base as unreasonable (otd), considering their invoice price. Nor do I see 29k OTD unreasonable for an enthusiast. /sigh
I think I'll go ask the artillery guys if I can go blow up something.

****en small world. My joe's have been asking me about personal internet for the last 2 months now. They'll be ecstatic to hear the news. I'll even save you a vip room in the infantry barracks. Are you KBR or private contractor? Either way, look me up. I'm the only Asian e6 on the fob. Room 5 in the infantry barracks.

Hah.. I might just take you up on that room. Yeah, my partner and I are KBR, its quite possible we'll be on a bird tomorrow or the next day. First thing smokin is what they told us. Not sure how they are going to set up access rights, but I think its going in an mwr container in the kbr compound. They let you guys access that?

I'll hook up with ya when I get there, we'll talk shop.

Default 2006 350ZR Touring - bought at invoice with proof!

Didn't buy it for less than invoice but AT invoice! The selling price I paid is $35,766.00 which is invoice for the 2006 ZR Touring. Here's the pics you've asked for - attached.

The 'selling price' is of concern in the first photo. Note: sticker AKA MSRP is $38,715.00 (see second attachment). How did I do it? Calling lots of dealers (those with the car I wanted) - See Nissan's official site to build your car and check inventory. Before you buy a car read these sites for negotiating techniques.

BTW - it's insanity to go into dealership after dealership and talk face to face. You can get the quotes from them over the phone and then get the car with the best quote. As for getting the car site unseen. These are NEW CAR dealers. You inspect the car before you give them money to make sure all is O.K. Most dealers keep the cars resonably intact - it is their bread and butter after all!

Well its about time someone posted something other than unverifiable numbers. Thanks. If my arithmetic is correct, you paid 82.4-percent of MSRP.

Correction: 92.4-percent of MSRP
