ATTENTION '06 OWNERS (only).. Did your salesman do better?
Hi everyone. Well, some of you might know that I work overseas, and that one of the goals I had set for myself with the money I make here, was a 350Z. Welp, I got all my priorities done. Bills all paid off and such. So now its time to start the process.
I have a dealer in Iowa, who is really cool and has alot of respect for all us over here in the middle east. He's actually the president of the dealership. Turns out, his dad ran gun boats in viet nam. Really nice people to deal with. He says he will make sure I get the best deal possible. I've been talking to him almost the entire year off an on about the z, asking him questions and what not. So the other day, I called him up and told him Im ready for some hard numbers.
He quotes me this:
'06 6sp Interlagos Fire Base $26900
'06 6sp Interlagos Fire Enthusiast $28400
As much as I want to stay with this guy because hes been so cool, I absolutely have to find the lowest price. The lower price I pay, the less time I have to be here to pay it off. So, did anyone get one for less? This does not apply to TT&L, this is not the drive out price as its termed. If anyone did get one lower, can you give me the dealership and salesmans name?
I realize this might not belong in this forum, but I really need to get maximum exposure. Anyone?

Bro, those prices are right in the ballpark. Figure, you're not going to get better than maybe an extra 2 or 3%. Pay for the service and support he's provided. Good car dealers and salespeople should be rewarded for providing quality service.

You know, youre right. Thanks Dave. He has provided about as pleasurable experience as it gets I suppose. Im sure that will make things alot easier when it comes time to finalize the deal. Honestly, I really wanted to go with him anyway, just because they are so cool and always chat me up and ask how Im doing over here. They genuinely seem to care that I make it home, and want me to get the car of my dreams. I guess you cant really pay for that kind of service. Thanks everyone for the responses.
The only crappy thing is, I wont be able to drive it when I get it. Cuz Iowa will be covered in snow by then. Its gonna sit in my driveway until I come home the next time. That will give me a good excuse to buy some lmods for it while Im gone. Yeah right, Im sure I'll just want to go driving as much as possible and not worry about installing stuff.

"He's actually the president of the dealership"
He can sell you the car for his cost if he wants to. Do not forget about the Dealer Holdback.

25,800 for an 06 base (real base, no options0
27,600 for an 06 Enthu with side and curtain airbags.
I got these quotes from Northern California.
But I bought a used 06 base with 6k miles from a private seller for $23800.

Its great that you are enthusiastic about a new 350Z, and have found a seller that you trust; however, you are going about this wrong:
No vehicle is sold over the phone or internet. None. What you have are generic numbers. No VIN. No specifics. No MSRP.
Never. Never. Never ask for a quote. It shows that you have not studied the numbers, and puts you at a disadvantage.
What to do: Wait until you find the 350Z that you want. Your dream car. Sit face-to-face with the dealer. Make your best offer.
