I found nails angled under my tire before it became a problem.
I'm just glad they didn't use the same nails on my paint.

It was probably neighborhood punks with nothing better to do. Never happened again. (fingers crossed)

I figure if there are punks who feel a need to do something stupid, they will do it to a car they wish they owned rather than some soccer moms minivan.

When I washed my car the other day i notice a 6" scratch down the side where it looks like somone tried to key it. Luckily it didn't go all the way through the paint. I can get my painter friend to buff it out...

I came out of a local concert to find that someone had kicked my passenger door. ($1200 repair) The Z is a nce looking car, and probably looks more expensive than it really is...

I had a red BMW before the Z that got keyed all the way down one side while at college... I guess some people have no consideration for others' property.

I believe in Karma.... What goes around, comes around. Just imagine that jackass that keyed your car probably drives and old 1986 Pontiac with rust spots the size of Texas...

I love the Z but lets not get beside ourselves here, it is a Nissan.

Regardless if its a Nissan or not, its still a great looking car that probably draws a lot of envy. Couple that with having it parked outside at an event where a lot of people are going to be wasted - sporting event, concert, pretty much anywhere outside at a college/highschool/halloween party - and it become a target. I'd say just take precautions in those situations. Other than that (taking it to work, to the store, etc.) you just have to cross your fingers because its not like you can go around living in fear for your car.

+1. It is just jealousy and total disrespect for others property. Like I said before, probably some neighborhood "good for nothing". So far I have been lucky. Nothing at all, but I figure it is only a matter of time. They just better hope I do not catch them

true.
i often see kids checking out my Z at shopping center parking lots. Somehow the Z draws unneccessary attentions even though its only a 25k dollar car.

That may be exactly why.

The price is low enough to tease but it's just slightly out of reach for a regular shlub and it makes them even more jelous because of it.

Don't think it's the price, but more circumstances i.e.

You can afford the insurance on a 2 door sports car.
2 seater so you don't have kids( some people seem almost regretful sometimes that their kids are holdin' them back) or you have other cars that you carry the family around in.
Too fat to get in. Too tall...whatever.
perception of the cars cost( a big one)
perception of what the car is...Porshe or some other more expensive car.

I just thinks it goes beyond price.

Some people can afford the Z, but their circumstances won't allow them to get the car.

that's what i've always said about the Z. it's just barely out of reach for a certain segment of the population, and among them the jealous a-holes.

now that the Z is rated #1 by R&T.....more reasons for haters to vandalize it IMO...... Envy(Jealousy) = one of 7 deadly sins.

I had someone throw drywall putty on my car last month. I was inside for no more than 15 minutes, came back out to white paste all over the hood and windshield. Luckily it rinsed right off, but what the EFF do you call that?

I knew it sucked to get keyed.. but people were getting overly angry in my opinion until my car got keyed basically its money down the drain and you have to live with the fact that your car is going to get repainted and the door might have a different reflection under extreme sun light..

sucks.. mine got keyed and i have no enemies.. hell i drove 2 hours away from home so i know its not anyone i know.. and i am a very nice person.. dont know how/whom i pissed off.

6 inches.. will the fix is the same.. mine was like 2 feet on my door

People are haters.. period. My brand new z (2006) was keyed on the nissan lot, along with 20+ brand new z's. It meant i got the car for a little less $$ and i was able to live with this due to my next story:

Heres a story for you from 2 yrs ago = I am a nightclub DJ, and an ex girlfriend came in my club and started to harass me... She was underage and getting hammered, so i informed mgt that she was drinking... This is what happened when mgt asked her to leave.... I had owned the car for 2 DAYS prior to this happening:

You get the idea.. it was like this on both sides of the car, both sides had to be repainted from bumper to bumper. What happened to her? ABSOLUTLY NOTHING! No Physical witness, nothing could be done.. LUCKILY insurance paid, but still over 2k worth of damage on a 3 day old car...
