correct.. but the Gs have been out longer thus somebody would have more time to install the supercharger and take pix. The Z has been out barely a month so I'm sure we'll see some mods soon, and hopefully pix!

I know, I need spacers BAD!

Drive great by the way. Car seems lighter in turns. Feels like it wants to rotate more..Thanks again Hotchkis!

Well, your car's weight is under the 3400lbs which is listed on nissan's website for a touring model.
Did you reduce weight from your car? Meaning do you remove the spare tire and tools, etc...?
How much gas was in the tank when you had your car weighed?
What factory options came your Z?
Does your '07 feel faster than the '03-'06?

As far as shifting gears, does the transmission feel smoother?

No, my car is completely stock. I do not rememebr how much gas I had in my car. I have a basic touring model with no extra options. I have only driven an 06 once and that was a long time ago so I cannot say if it's fater or not.

I was wondering how the the VQ35HR would fare to such things as FI, building up the block/sleeved/stroked? Just wanted to know just how great the difference between the newer engine to the slightly older one is in terms of their potential and reliabilty.

If the block does fare better, then I hope to see block swaps with the 07' into 03-06 models.

Ive read alot of posts and got me wondering...for someone who is lookin at makin the Z a show car(project car) what would be a good model to look at? Ive been thinkin about gettin the Base model or the Touring model(those seem to be the most ordered models at the dealers near me). Thanks for the Info.

I read the nissan website is constant VVT been in the later models or is that something new? Does it have greater gains with performance add ons? I know this might be a little early ask about that.

Edit: Well i found a Z Touring goin for $33,625.00 is that a good deal its the net price i still have yet to go in and talk about it. its in Daytona blue which i like though i still like silver or gray.

If you are buying a Z to transform into a show car, just get the base model. All the engines and drivetrains are the same for any given year regardless of trim, except lack VDC but why would you want vehicle dynamic control on a show car? You can't show VDC. So the only factor is model year.

If you want to see how it does with FI jsut look at the GTR.

Jk, some (Autoweek) are saying it's the same motor but not confirmed. We'll see what happens.

Hi guys,

I have been out of the scene for a long time. I bought a 2004 350Z base model back in late 2004 but had very bad luck. My Z got hit by a hit and run driver in first few months of being purchased. I then later lost control and drifted my Z to the curb a few months later. I then decided to trade in the Z for a 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. It was a very nice ride overall. I ran into a money snag and had to trade it for another car. Since I have another car I decided to purchase a Z again. I bought a 2007 350Z Base. I chose the Carbon Silver color. The 07 350Z has better interior which may be the same as the 06 model. One thing I did notice is the how smooth the shifting is on the 07 model. There is no clunking when shifting especially in 2nd gear where I would always here on my 04 350Z. I havent opened up on the revs since I am in the break in state. I keep the revs under 4K RPMs and havent been on the highways yet. So far it is nice ride. Mostly everybody thinks the hood is awful but I like it. The standard 18' wheels is nice. My opinion the suspension feels a bit soft. I feel a bit of a body roll on the turns but that can be adjusted later. Overall the 07 Z is a respectable car.
