a dealership around here (supposedly) once did a test to see if car color really made a difference in how hot it got inside. they found it really didn't matter. there was less than a 5 degree difference between white and black. now, the interior color definitely made a huge difference, but the paint doesn't.

now what everyone is saying about upkeep on black, yeah, it's a biatch to keep clean. i think it's definitely the best looking, but it's hard to say if it's worth it. you better really, REALLY like washing your car.

I hear ya on the black is sexy and probably one of the sexiest colors for a any car. Heck I saw a Black Kia SUV with chromes and was even impressed. Black has it's cons for sure. Black is really bad in the summer months. If Florida gets about as hot as it gets here in AZ-whew baby! You will be sweating your hide and hope you dont have leather seats. I left a thermometer in my black SUV on Jul 15 at our DJ BBQ and in about 20 minutes after I parked, it was 140 degrees in there. The second time I went back it was pegging the thermometer.

Black paint or any for that matter...Use 3M Imperial Glaze Polish instead of wax!! and pay attention to *what* is wiping the black paint which will leave you little scratches that are noticable and ugly. Black is totally not forgiving!
Black is 80 percent the choice for me, and is pure sex on wheels but more work involved. I can say owning a Black SUV and trying my best to keep it looking new is indeed a chore and discipline is needed. I dont even like those drive thru car washes because no matter if they say brushless, they leave scratches! Neighbor friends see me in the drive often and tell me if i wash it too much im gonna take off the paint. Because it shows dirt and is not only a girl magnet but "dust magnet" as well.

PPW is awesome and beautiful as well. The 3 stage metallic is really nice up close. I have 2 white Nissans and a Black SUV. The Maxima we've had for about 6 years and the Trooper weve had about 6 years. The white paint doesnt nearly take as much effort as the black does.
