Default Possible solution to noise from right rear wheel well

Whenever I drove on roads with any loose dirt or crud, it seemed to make a great deal of noise, mainly from the right rear. So I bought some sound deadening spray. I took off the wheel yesterday and found that the gas line from the cap to the tank is covered by a large plastic piece that takes up a huge amount of real estate in that wheel well. So I coated it with the spray on sound deadener yesterday. I will let you know if it solves that issue.

It has been about 24 hours and the stuff is still gummy wet, so I don't want to drive it till it dries.
