How do you pronounce Nismo? I pronounce it "Nismo" (How it looks) but my friend pronounces it "Nizmo" and some, I think the japs pronounce it "Neesmo" (How you would pronounce Ni-ssan) I know it really doesn’t matter, but I'd like to know how the majority pronounces it.

how are you supposed to say greddy? oh, you mean they say it as 2 words?
Oki, those of you have lived in Japan or have studied the japanese language shouldnt ever have this issue.
There are a few hard and fast rules to pronouncing Romananized Japanese. Since you guys arent here to learn in depth, I'll only apply the rule for this scenario.
An I is pronounced as a long e, like feed, or eat. Also japanese is a very short and aggresive language, which is why it can sound like two people are arguing, when they are just discussing the weather or asking the time. Also, typically, when a word ends in or O or U, that vowel is shortened or silenced all together. For example, takamatsu, would be pronounced Toh ko mots, the U sound would not be sounded, but you might here it slightly as the S rolls off your tongue.
Thus, since nismo came from japan, the most proper way to pronounce it would be Nees mo. If you want to sound truly JDM, you would most likely stress the first syllable, and make the o short, or stocatto.
NEESS mo.
Any questions?

since its a combination of the first syllable of 2 words then you say it like you would normally pronounce those syllables. but with that said its been turned into nizmo and thats how its always gonna be atleast here in the US
like you guys dont say nizzan so its Nissan(who ever you normally say that syllable in nissan then Motorsports
